I've never heard of it, though I do think I remember when it happened. Seemed to disappear as a story pretty quick.

C'mon, we know what this is all about. They spend most of every morning calling the President a traitor, unhealthy, unstable, a "threat to our democracy", a crook and on and on and on. But, Booooooyyyy, did they love to have him on for the ratings when it served their purpose. Then, they completely sell out.

So, after a while he comes across this old story and he's getting under their skin. He's (rather unsightly) pulling a scab off an old wound, maybe thinking squirmy might start sleeping with one eye open. Or Joe has to now contend with answering the same and perhaps more questions all over again.

It's a metaphorical double middle-finger, and seems to be working in just the way he wants it to. Piss 'em off and throw them off their game.
