A good leader is more than a mouthpiece
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articl...42866.html
Having made a similar point in another thread, I ran across this article:
"...Should we do what experts say without critical reasoning, just because they “know better”? “You can’t handle the truth!” Jack Nicholson thundered from the witness stand in the 1992 movie A Few Good Men, but his character, an expert at war, was wrong. Uncritical deference to authority is not the basis on which our self-governing republic was founded.
Leaders should listen to experts, but leaders are more than mere mouthpieces for expert advisors. A leader listens, assesses. and then decides; this is what President Trump does every day as challenges unfold. When it comes to lifting the quarantine and restarting the economy, Trump is more than capable of making the decisions necessary to make America great again. "

This is why we can't have anyone who answers to CEO's running the country. CEO's too frequently make policy and decisions in a vacuum created by the fear of any subordinate disagreeing with the boss. The last thing I want is Bill Gates or Warren Buffet calling the shots when national defense stands in conflict with their balance sheets.
Donald J. Trump might listen but he clearly makes his own decisions. I do think however he has deferred to Doctors on the virus issue. But trade and tariffs and tough negotiations in both is where he is a big breath of fresh air. And, he has common sense in most matters except cell phone use.

Haha!!
I tend to agree except he has used this method of communication with the citizens without having to go through the conduit of the MSM - and knowing the MSM is in the business of garbling the transmission with their agenda.
He has to an extent circumvented the MSM - and they hate him for it............

With a lot of experience in middle management, I've learned that US companies usually succeed in spite of their CEOs, not because of them.
