‘I Don’t Have Time To Listen To Bullsh*t’: Former FEMA Chief Storms Off MSNBC
Both Obama guys, but Fugate is right, Andy Slavitt is full of B.S., claiming 1 million people are going to die and trying to panic people beyond all rationality.
Quote:Tensions flared Thursday during an MSNBC segment between two former Obama administration officials over how involved the federal government should be in the coronavirus response, with former Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Craig Fugate eventually getting so frustrated he ripped off his microphone and stormed out of the interview.
Fugate, who headed up FEMA during Obama’s eight years in office, argued that states would need to take a leading role in response efforts.
“The myth of a single person in charge taking control and running this is a myth,” Fugate said. “This is going to be dealt with on the front lines and local and state levels, and each state is going to be addressing this unique to their systems.”
“I’ve always believed the best way the federal government can support governors is to get out of their way, get them funding, use CDC to give guidance," he continued. "As we’re running out of stuff, I’m asking, why are we not looking at idle capabilities now and governors go contract for that? Why wait for the federal government?”
Andy Slavitt, former acting Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator, disagreed, saying states and the federal government would need more of a partnership.
"What your other guest is suggesting here is not helpful,” Slavitt said. “We need a great partnership between the federal and state government.”
And that’s when Fugate ripped off his mic and said he didn’t “have time to listen to bull**** people.”
MSNBC's Katy Tur, Fugate, and Slavitt all responded on Twitter after the segment.

I would go on MSDNC just to cuss them out. Then I'd leave.

Fugate was one of the few appointments Obama made that I approved of. He'd come up thru the ranks, starting as a Firefighter/Paramedic and working his way through as a County EMD coordinator, deputy director and then director of Florida EMD, then FEMA.
What you just saw was Fugate reverting back to his firefighter roots.

Slavitt probably thought Fugate would respond like 99.9% of Obama’s appointees when faced with a challenge. He’d do nothing but sit there and take it. Surprised him...lol
They were already making up on Twitter minutes later.
Almost expected one of them to tweet:
“Let’s Remember who the Real enemy is during this crisis”
Tweet: Covid-19
Tweet: No....President Trump

What Slavitt didn't realize is the fact he was facing someone who has been in far too many situations where BS wasn't tolerated and from a culture that out of necessity can and will be very blunt. We had a saying "When you get here in the morning the last thing you should do before you get out of your car is put your feelings in the glovebox. If you bring them in the firehouse they are most assuredly going to get hurt."

IMO, Fugate was correct. He actually described the perfect state/fed partnership when he said let the states lead the way with fed support and guidance.
