We always have 3+ deer in the chest freezer along with lots of other stuff.

Loaded up on home cold and flu meds and remedies from the drug store along with some other first aid stuff and backup personal hygiene items in case I need my own pharmacy.

Made a big trip to the grocery.

I have my own well so generator backup will keep the water flowing. If that fails I’m on a 12 square mile spring fed sand bottomed lake. Water and fish won’t be an issue.

Plenty of ammo in the safe.

I ran to the hardware store yesterday and everyone was coughing...little voice told me that was it for me for a bit.

I’ve loaded up not for the end of the world but because I live in a very rural location and prefer to stay right here with the family rather than making multiple trips to stores.

that's what gets a pat on the back of common sensei....

This year I am adding a couple more raised beds. I am also experimenting with a raised bed on a concrete slab. I worry about reflective heat burning plants in that one.

I am also planting an acre or so mixed vegetable garden at my son-n-laws home. If the rain ever stops I will be tilling.

If you plant a garden you won’t go hungry. Combine a garden with a few squirrels, a ground hog or two and a couple of deer and you won’t want for anything.

And don’t forget the generator. I have a Honda 7000 in the garage and I’m looking at installing a Generac in the house.

Uh, the squirrels and chipmunks will eat every tomato in your garden. We've got coyotes in the neighborhood, but they are hard to find.

My Mom had problems with the squirrels in her garden last year but I didn’t. My large garden I would have deer problems but I’ll just do what my grandparents used to do. Scatter human hair around the perimeter of the garden once a month during the growing season. Deer will shy away as will rabbits.

Ground hogs now. If I have any around I’ll shoot and eat him

You can also use milorganite to keep them away, and get the added benefit of it's fertilizer properties.

Thanks...I had never heard that. Much appreciated

Not a problem. It's what we use on our foodplots to allow them to get a foothold before the deer and rabbits overbrowse them.
