Naw man those EMU guys were stoked to go to Montgomery last year because it was like 5 degrees warmer than Boise!

USA Today/Buckeye Wire has us in the Camellia against Georgia State

I think this is unlikely since we have already played them.

That would be so stupid, why send a team to a bowl game against someone theyve already played in the regular season.

I agree... VERY unlikely... Not to mention we didn't just play them already... we DESTROYED them...

Whoever is making these projections probably didn't take the time to research and know that we played each other. But that said, I'm sure it has probably happened before. Hell, two teams from the MWC played each other in 2015, although they hadn't met earlier in the year.

FWIW, the SB Nation and the Athletic projections seem the most well thought out. Both actually have us in Detroit, SB Nation has us playing Boston College and the Athletic says Florida State.

I think we could be competitive against both. I think Boston College would be a good match-up.

Would be a tough matchup against BC's run game.

RE: Bowl Talk Thread
Help me understand something...

The B1G has 9 bowl eligible teams. On Wiki, it states that "if the conference champion is in the CFP, another team will fill the Rose Bowl". Assuming OSU is in the CFP, Wisconsin will likely go to the Rose. That leaves 7 eligible teams for 8 other bid (if B1G gets 9...although Wiki shows as many as 10 and Big Ten page shows as many as 11).

Why are we saying that the Quick Lane Bowl is out of the question? Assuming OSU wins the B1G Championship...

Wouldn't happen, but I'd like to see us get a redo against MSU in the Quik Lane.

Maybe against a 6-6 Illinois?

Not me, they'd curb stomp us again.

I have to wonder if we have anyone sit out the bowl protecting themselves ... especially guys already going to post season draft games... Bellamy, Juriga and Ricci....

I have a hard time seeing Bellamy do that. His biggest question mark is durability anyway (though after NIU, his toughness is beyond question), so he needs to prove he can take more hits.

Offensive linemen might not be constitutionally capable of such a thing.

Ricci needs as much tape as possible, he has the most to gain from a great bowl performance.

I don't think any of the three are first or second rounders, so they all have something to prove against good competition, unless they have some pretty significant injuries they have been playing through.

I've been saying that I don't see the Detroit Bowl because of our position in the standings, but I could see Admin declining the other options for it for obvious reasons.

That being said, I don't see it opening up -> I see it staying Big 10 vs ACC

In Dallas (First Responders Bowl) vs. Marshall on 12/30 would be cool. I’ve seen that projection a couple times.

Im thinking it will be Detroit, assuming they need a MAC team. They won't send either CMU or Miami, because they just played there today. WMU makes the most sense. Would be my first choice too. I'm sure that will factor into the decision.

I don't think Quick Lane will have a MAC team. Most of the projections I've seen are for MSU to face Florida State in Detroit.

If Wisconsin pulls off the upset over OSU that will really screw up the projections.

Unless they get completely run out of the building (could happen), I think OSU still gets in. They are still easily one of the four best teams in the country. Wisconsin has two losses with one being against Illinois. I don't see them jumping in.

LSU dominated UGA...they are out of the picture
Clemson is holding serve and then some v. Virginia
Utah is out of the picture
Oklahoma barely got by Baylor who played a back-up QB for half the game.

At the end of the day (save for a Wisky blowout) I still think we see OSU in the CFP and Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.
