Great news!

Just curious, what was his reason for transferring? I know the NCAA often approves waivers for athletes trying to be closer to family when personal reasons arise, but the close proximity of the two universities seems to rule that out.

Just not familiar with the situation, thanks

21 Points and 9 rebounds in his debut vs UNLV. AMAZING.

Even better: the ball movement was reminiscent of the Larry Brown days and the transition game looked improved.

Still waiting to hear on the McNeil waiver. Jasey is eligible in mid December.

Given that our AAC CONFERENCE schedule is cupcake I think SMU is now a top four team in the regular season conference race. We have single home games with UCONN and WSU and Cincy away....whoa...friendly.

If Jasey is solid enough to start ahead of Chagois this is a pretty good roster. If McNeil gets added then the roster is two deep at all five positions....WITH NO SENIORS on the roster.

Might be time to re-ascess all those ninth place predictions folks.

If Jasey is a solid contributor especially defensively and on the boards, this last recruiting class that brought unprecedented whining and angst from SMU fans might end up being among the best in SMU History--not the best but among. Kendric Davis (3 years), Tyson Jolly (2 years) appear to be potential All-AAC candidates if not this year in the future. McNeil is a proven double digit scorer in both freshman and Sophomore year at Cal. Bandoumel started until recently and is still transitioning to the next level but has 3 years left. He has offensive, defensive and ballhandling tools but is turning the ball over and fouling too much right now. The freshman Charles Smith looks pretty comfortable offensively in his first year. I think its going to be a very strong class and the entire team has 2 years to develop together as SMU has no Seniors. We're going to be 8-9 deep this year when Jasey arrives at mid-term and 10 deep next year. Finally having a PG in Kendric Davis makes all of the other players better

RE: Kendric Davis eligible
I don’t think anyone was upset about this class by the time all the transfers came in. People were upset about the previous two classes and not cutting some dead weight and rightfully so. Last year’s class was Feron Hunt and not much else. The year before was Ethan Chargois, who stagnated and an injured and unproven Everett Ray and not much else. The sanctions were a challenge to be sure, but we also wasted scholarships and let some go unused due to our inability to land any of our targets. I’m on board with Jankovich now because I think he finally righted the ship and is a good enough bench coach.

Nope, can’t do it. Can’t endorse Excusavitch.

I’ll never root against the team but the coach still has a ways to go. The coach has a decent shot at saving his bacon but he still comes off as a smug, ‘holier then thou’ excuse-prone whiny Valley girl.
And I’ve seen no evidence he’s any kind of bench coach.
But I know the players like him so there’s that.

NCdubs or buh-bye.
