In my time researching, I found there are no locked rivals that play home-home every year which I find incredibly stupid. Duke-North Carolina play twice every year, it makes for a can't miss event on television, their fans love it, so why wouldn't the Big Ten try to do that for their top rivals as well? I understand competitive balance as it wouldn't exactly be fair to Michigan to have to play Michigan State and Ohio State twice a year, every year, while Maryland could get Penn State and Rutgers (this year excepted).

This may be changing with the move to a 20 game conference schedule. A 20 game conference schedule allows 7 home-home teams during the season so there is going to be one repeat between two years. We need next year's schedule to see if the same team will repeat for a third year but I haven't seen anything suggesting that.

Thank you and the effort is appreciated! That looks like a lot of work.

Agree, I too believe there should be locked rivals and the 20 game schedules should allow this.

There is one matchup I really want more of and that's, Indiana vs. Maryland. That series could become really special over the years. Duke vs North Carolina is on a level all it's own, but the Big 10 can have some pretty damn good matchups too.

Giving some love to Penn State. Winning at West Lafayette is not easy. Keep it rolling, Nittany Lions!

I thought when they announced the change to a 20 game schedule, that they said the 3 in-state rivalries would be locked in as home-and-homes every year, and then those 6 teams( Michigan, MSU, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana) would play the other 8 teams, 9 times in a 6 year period, while the other 8 teams would be in 2 groups regionally (Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland) and (Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin), where they would play the other 3 teams in their group 10 times each, and everyone else 9 times in the same 6 year period.

Linked article from 2017 mentions it as well.

They look to be an underdog in their next two games (home to Maryland, at Purdue). Lose both, one and done in the Big Ten Tournament, I think the drought continues.

NET #35, H2H sweep over Indiana, 4 Quad 1 wins. Indiana's NET is low but they have 6 Q1 wins and if Indiana's in Purdue has to be in, especially with their NET. If Indiana falls out, then Purdue should be worried.

Huge win for Rutgers tonight and a huge boost for tournament hopes. They may still need to win at Purdue to polish the resume further.

RE: 2019/20 Big 10 Basketball
Penn State is just a turd swirling around the bowl as it flushes right now. It's hard to be disappointed with the results of the season like spending time in the top 10, making the NCAA tournament (probably), a shot in the Big Ten tournament, etc. but losing four of the last five is difficult to swallow, especially considering the leads blown. I'd rather get it out of our system now and instead save the winning for the tournaments but it's not easy right now based on how the season was going.

First time Rutgers gets a winning season in both overall and conference in Big Ten. I'm liking this direction.
