RE: Official CFP Rankings - 20-Cincinnati 21-Memphis 22-Boise State 24-Navy 25-SMU
I'm trying to track down some stats. What was UCFs computer SOS at this point in 2017 and 2018 compared with Clemson's as if now?

Copying my reply in the Realignment board:
According to Sagarin, the strength of schedule of the following teams in 2019:
Clemson - 64
Alabama - 59
In 2017 and 2018, here was UCF's strength of schedule at this point in the season...
UCF (2017) - 99
UCF (2018) - 125
Now that is low, but remove Connecticut from the schedule? Probably rises by a decent amount...UConn was the 145th ranked team in Division 1 football in 2017.

Top two PAC teams 7 & 8 while the top two AAC teams are 20 & 21... so biased.

I believe Boise St will take another loss to Wyoming or Utah St. The AAC has this by virtue of conference SOS over the MWC.

Still very possible for them to trip and fall into the game. With the rankings as they are, a loss would likely get an AAC team unranked.
Cincy plays Memphis - that boots 1 of them
Navy plays SMU - that boots one of them
East plays West in CCG - If a 2-loss team wins, we might be in trouble
All that also assumes that none of these teams lose any other random conference games along the way.

I would say that if SMU had beaten Memphis they would have been ranked higher than #20 in this 1st poll. Maybe like 17-19.

Agree. Boise’s resume isn’t that great.
What wins does Navy have on their schedule that are of any merit? If they beat the Irish then you have a point, but to date Navy has played a weak schedule and lost to the only good team on it (Memphis).

RE: Official CFP Rankings - 20-Cincinnati 21-Memphis 22-Boise State 24-Navy 25-SMU
Its teh typical dick slap that I expected. The Big 10 is WAY over represented as usual. They will fill their bowl games and lose most, as usual.
Boise states best win is over a horrific FSU.... and there are teams ranked that havent beat a single ranked team and they are way ahead of all the G5 teams.
Its hilarious how if the Big 10, SEC or any cartel 5 loses to someone in their conference its because "there is so much parity at that level", but when the AAC beats itself up, its because we "arent a very deep conference and our SOS is weak".
Seriously, I love USF more than life, but how do we beat BYU, and then BYU beats Boise St AND they rank them? We are the epitome of mediocre to bad this year and we beat BYU like a dog. BYU then exposes Boise for the weakass team they are, and they still have a chance. WTF?

Interesting, with the exception of Navy, AP voters put us all 2-3 spots ahead of the CFP rankings.

Navy and Boise share "best win" - Air Force.
Beyond that Navy's wins were ranked #42, 81, 86, 115, 123
Compare to Boise's wins were ranked #61, 69, 70, 100, 119
Navy's loss is to #17, Boise's #46.
(all those are Massey Composite numbers
ESPN FPI "Strength of Record" has Navy ranked #26 and Boise State #22
Have a nice day.

I don't think a two loss AAC team automatically gets booted. Past CFP polls have rated 2 even 3 loss American teams...especially if you're referencing Cincy/Memphis winning out until they play.

Here is a perfect example. This probably can apply to any other AAC school vs. a P5 ranked somewhere above them .
I guess it doesn't matter in the long term scheme of things. None of us are cracking the top 4 . They basically got the order right , just a few schools seems to be a few notches lower than they deserve . Its like the committee spent all their time at the top analyzing teams and when it got the the G5 they were just like lets stick all these schools down here.
