College football doing college football things.
So we can agree that college football as a whole is entirely unpredictable...

EMU beats Illinois.
Illinois beats #6 Wisconsin

Toledo beats BYU
BYU beats #14 Boise State

We all sit here and pine over what could have and should have been... when in reality we lost to TWO really good football teams in the MAC.

Sure Toledo is now a shell of itself after losing their top two QB's... EMU is turning a new leaf with a youngster QB who's completely capable of running their offense...

We need to just win out and control our own bowl seeking destiny.

I honestly think our ONLY issue this year is putting together a full game plan on the road... we seem to take care of our business at home.

Don't look now but we have big wins over a decent CMU team and a surprising Ga State team... at HOME... we need to learn how to win away from the confines of Waldo. Our last road win was last year on the road Oct 20th against CMU. Since then we have lost 6 straight road games...

BSU
BYU
MSU
SU
Toledo
EMU

Gotta do better on the road boys!

I predict our next and only win of the rest of the season will be this weekend. We will likely lose to Ohio on the road and NIU is never easy in the wind tunnel... the interesting matchup with BSU is one I can't seem to figure out.

ending this season with 5 wins would be a HUGE disappointment... but not out of the realm of possibility.

They were right to emphasize it, but the follow-through hasn't happened in terms of a complete road game. There's two big opportunities left.

So a post about how crazy college football is predicts only one more win?? I think if it's as crazy as OP says, we'll get an upset vs BSU, OU, or NIU to finish with 6.

Imagine how big those games could be if we sweep the next 2.......

Yeah, I was half kidding about the t-shirts because it is a truly brutal road schedule -- and Lester knew it. I give him credit for trying to get the team mindset right, but it seemed we weren't disciplined early on in the schedule and blew a number of opportunities at Syracuse and Toledo. I was very happy how we moved the ball against State. Let's hope Wassink gets back on track for the remainder of the schedule as we'll need him down the stretch.
