First, in Canada it's all done at the provincial level, so they could keep whatever they have. Second, it's not really single payer any more. Canda has found out that doesn't really work, so they are steadily privatizing more and more of their health care.
The management is done at the provincial level but guaranteed funding comes through the federal CHT. So they could continue to manage it but it would take a big cut. I think they’d want to change what they have to what we have. We have very high prescription costs and our most used way of paying for healthcare (job based insurance) isn’t portable. Lose your job, lose your insurance. Only in America is that considered a very good idea.
They could fund it for less than they are sending to Ottawa.

Well sure, Medicare for all is a MUCH better idea.

Well sure, Medicare for all is a MUCH better idea.
Medicare for all would wreck local economies cause much job loss and accelerate the trend of consolidation of healthcare service providers.
