Slides and pictures, words are to complicated for him. ADHD?
https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-burst-d...56588.html

Quote:The former speech writer, who helped Mr Mattis prepare for briefings with the president, said he learned to only bring “slides with pictures … no words” to future meetings with Mr Trump.

“Trump veered from topic to topic—Syria, Mexico, a recent Washington Post story he didn’t like—like a squirrel caught in traffic, dashing one way and then another,” Mr Snodgrass wrote. “The issues were complicated, yet all of the president’s answers were simplistic and ad hoc. He was shooting from the hip on issues of global importance.”

The president’s aides have previously acknowledged he prefers pictures and videos with “killer graphics” compared to words in his daily intelligence briefings.

RE: Slides and pictures, words are to complicated for him. ADHD?
lol...and yet his "simplistic answers" seem to work. For instance---we are in a place with a complicated series of shifting alliances and conflicting interests where our troops are in a very dangerous environment. Trumps "simplistic" analysis---why are we there? What's the vital US interest? Wait---there really isnt one? Then lets leave that crap hole.

What the guy quoted really means is "this guy see's through the BS and wants to cut straight to the bottom line". The reality is the answers are generally not that complicated once you take out all status quo "thats how we have always done it BS" and boil it down to a cost/benefit business like approach. I mean---for instance---we can argue and agonize over the complicated nature of the budget deficit and the national debt---but the answer to this massive issue isnt really complicated. We are spending too much and need to spend less. Duh.

It goes without saying that people in charge of corporations prefer to see information that can be analyzed quickly visually and thru executive summaries. If time is truly at a premium for CEOs - and even more so for POTUS - you'd think that getting the info put together in as succinct a manner as possible is best. I think Washington is notorious for putting together reams of documents together primarily to hide info as well as provide it.

You can tell it's just some talking point I have NEVER worked with a CEO that wanted a verbose memo/slide presentation to explain to him/her what was important. It's also bullet points with any associated relative facts. Now that I think of it,this entire thread is silly.

I remember the former EXXON CEO complaining that the president wouldn't read his 3 inch thick briefing books. Duh! Just told me the guy was inflexible. Very few execs want 3 inch briefing books. They want a quick summary and your recommendations on how to solve it.

I'm very detail oriented and I wouldn't read a 3 inch briefing book.

And if you can't make it simple, that is simply a demonstration that you don't understand it very well. I've found complicated presentations most often means there are holes in the presenters understanding. That's true even on complicated technical topics.
