My rap rankings
Look, I'm old, in my 40s. but these are my rap rankings. I would to hear your disagreemens.

Rakim – For the youngsters, Erik B and Rakim were greatness. Listen to Paid in Full and I Ain’t No Joke. Rakim is a NYC master and legend.
Dr. Dre – NWA and west coast rap defined my youth even though I preferred east coast artists. Dre was the best on the west coast IMO.
Q-Tip: The maestro. Tribe is my favorite rap group of all-time. I could listen to Low End Theory and/or Midnight Marauders daily and be happy. Q-Tip flowed like no other.
Nas – Every time I hear him I think how great he is. Not remarkable but so solid
Pac – I appreciated his passion and anger. I was big fan of Digital Underground before Pac blew up. The Sex Packets album is great. I was a fan of every album Pac released.
Jay Z – West coast legend and well deserved. Gets bonus points for Beyoncé.
Kendric Lamar – my favorite millennial rapper.
Biggie – Not a huge fan but I realized his greatness.
KRS One – no one under 40 knows him but another NYC legend. Boogie Down Productions had a lot. To stand out in NYC in 90s you had to be great, and he was.
Eazy E – RIP Eric. I loved Eaxy’s high pitched voice. He was Compton before Compton was cool.
Chuck D – I LOVED Public Enemy. Chuck D always had a message in his rap and he hated the establishment, and I appreciated that. Flava gets a mention.
D.O.C. – Probably shouldn’t be this high but I’ll give a nod to a Dallas guy (The Formula). Along with Erykah Badu, Nora Jones, Leon Bridges, St. Vincent, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Post Malone (giving the millennials a voice on the last three), the best Dallas musical artists over the last 30 years.

Eminem – I know I probably should have him top 12, and I realize his greatness but it my top 12 and he didn’t make it.
Too Short –

1. Rakim: Wichita St. – I think Marshall is the best coach in the AAC and they are under the radar this year, just like Rakim.
2. Dre: Houston – So talented and the rep is well deserved.
3. Q-Tip: Cincy – Just like Tip, understated but always great. Despite Cronin, they will still be a factor.
4. Nas: Memphis – The ranking is all on potential. Will they live up to it?
5. Pac: SMU – Just like Pac everyone discounts the Ponies despite being a 2-time champ. Always have dome to prove, hence the anger.
