ECU quarterback intentionally tries to break his hand with hammer.
So I'm looking up info regarding ECUs decision to suspend their Chancellor when I see an article about a former ECU quarterback taking a hammer to his own hand. Seems the guy didn't like his coach's decision not to play him so he starts hitting his hand with a hammer. A little psycho in my opinion - but never mind - eventually transferred out and is now playing in the pros. So what ends well. Kind of a strange environment up there to say the least LOL.

Kind of like Scorpio hiring a guy to beat him up to frame Harry Callihan in the movie Dirty Harry.

Reading the Sports Illustrated article on this and they never mention which hand he was trying to break. That's an important piece of information to my opinion 04-cheers

I'm sure it wasn't his throwing hand.

Anyway...Love seeing his success, and sad that my school was in such shambles while he was here.

I don't. I have no issue with him leaving ECU, he was damn smart to get off the Mo sinking ship, but flat out lying about there being a "family emergency" to leave makes him a low class human being. I'm not saying this as someone who thinks he owed any loyalty to ECU or to Mo or anyone. It's just a low class way to handle things, and in the working world if you left jobs in that way it would come back to haunt you and hurt your professional reputation.

Citing family emergency in Mississippi

Admitting it was crap

Mods come on this title is blatant trolling. “ECU quarterback”? The one that split starting reps 3 years ago yeah. OP obviously knows who Gardner Minshew is, but can’t bring himself to say his name for whatever reason.

Any Titanic references you want to throw out while we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity?

Best I can tell this story broke only 10 or 11 days ago. The story I read from Sports Illustrated is dated September 20th 2019.

Yes this story "broke" not that long ago, but the event in question, if it even did happen, occurred in 2016. With this clowns track record of lying I certainly don't trust that it actually happened and I've read not a single person who backs up this story.

You got the story wrong. He basically went from #3 to #1 overnight. He thought he would be sitting for a year. He didn’t want to blow a year of eligibility for what I believe was going to be a partial season. ...Now I think breaking your hand with a hammer for any reason is a little on the psycho side. But that was the story. Gardner Minshew is definitely a unique and interesting individual to say the least. I don’t know this story about him leaving for a family emergency either. That sounds like gossip. He was just a grad transfer. The hammer story was told by him on a podcast a couple of weeks ago. That was the first time it was ever told.
