I actually doubt that. Most of these guys aren't particularly good at being coy about these things. HS is buddies with Pirate Radio. Pirate Radio has fully and publicly supported Gerlach.

Random, but I met a former ECU Chancellor a few times before he took that position. His name is William Muse and he was in Greenville for only a couple of years (2001-03). Any ECU people who can say why he left so soon?

He resigned after some money was spent in places it shouldn't have been. 2000-2005(ish) were some pretty ugly times at ECU. We enjoyed it so much we decided to do it again from 2015-present(ish).

Like some others have stated in this thread, this is nothing but pure, nasty, dickish politics promulgated by some, likely in academia, who can’t stand the fact that this guy does not have a PHD in Higher Education and that the wants the job.

As an interim, he’s done a good job and deserves a shot at making it full-time. This will probably run him off, which is a shame.

I am sick of “gotcha culture” and the “rush to convict” mentality that pervades society. It’s hurting all of us, especially the nitwits who subscribe to such behavior.

It's a little unusual, but I didn't see him doing anything wrong in that video. It's kind of cool that he tries to reach out to the students in some capacity.

For 10 years the guy was chairman of a state agency called the Golden Leaf Foundation, which handled money from tobacco company settlements. He grew their endowment from $400 million to over a billion dollars while giving away over $600 million in grants and scholarships.
