I think also that BYU was giving the O-line all it could handle, until they wore down in the second half, giving Mitch more time and better looks. Again, a younger quarterback may have made some ill-advised decisions under that kind of pressure.

Yes. This is a young and talented team with a good group of leaders.

This is a lot of fun.

Toledo needs to have the most growth mentally, as the conference schedule begins. All of these games are must win games.

Let’s get it done! Go rockets!

After the Kentucky game I considered all the games on the schedule winnable but I'm not convinced we've yet met the toughest team ON the schedule. I don't see a clear cut leader in the MAC so for us, the toughest will be the match-ups.

Exactly—13-1 and a final T25 ranking is still on the table, and the chances of that happening are definitely greater than zero. Of course, also entirely possible we lay an egg at home against Western, completely erasing the ‘high’ we’ve reached after yesterday’s win, and finding ourself looking for ‘help’ throughout the remainder of the conference schedule. I don’t know if Western can stop us, but they can sure put points on the board. Hopefully we stay focused on the practice field ‘cause we can’t afford to take anyone too lightly.

How about some love for the TEs?

Burner running backs and TEs. I'm getting tingly.

If you're going to have a lousy passing QB (we do; read the thread, lol) then can it get better than an opponent having to cover our RBs and two giant sure handed receivers that hang out 5 feet over the line of scrimmage where a lousy QB can reach them?

We seem to do well against teams who don't have a stud rb. Passing only teams isn't a bugaboo with our backside youth surprisingly because of their speed. I need to watch their Syracuse game to give an honest prediction. I'm feeling 40something to 28 right now. I saw em in East Lansing during week 2. Not inept vs. an awesome defense... But timely turnovers and dumb mistakes kept em out of it. And they made MSU look like they had an O.

Watching Reggie Gilliam block defenders is nearly, by itself, worth the price of a ticket! Just watching the condensed ESPN game highlights will get you tingly!

He was a big reason the running game took off in the second half.

Amen. Coach Candle, in his WMU preview presser, said that there were NFL scouts at the BYU game checking out Reggie. COGS

Love our tight ends, but watch the last Seymore TD after the INT. Rosi gets lit up. The DE had so much fun pancaking the TE, he forgot to make the tackle on Seymore. Maybe it was by design?

Rosi also had two bad drops. Uncharacteristic game for him.

One pass was pretty low. I guess there’s no such thing as a good drop in positive territory, but that was one of a series of low throws by Guadagni, who seemed to correct the problem as the game wore on. Some blame on both parties for that one.
