RE: West Supremacy
Since the split into divisions, the standout teams:
2015:
East: Temple
West: Houston, Navy, Memphis
Temple's, and the American's, breakout year.
2016:
East: Temple, USF
West: Navy, Tulsa, Houston (OOC, at least)
When Houston beat #3 OU and #3 Louisville but came in 4th in the West.
2017:
East: UCF, USF
West: Memphis
UCF, Memphis, and USF all won 10+ games with the War on I-4 and the AAC Championship being classic games.
2018:
East: UCF, Cincinnati, Temple (in-conference)
West: Memphis
UCF and Cincinnati were the best two teams with UCF and Temple ending with the best conference records.
What brings down the East is UConn and ECU, and there's always a third bad team (used to be Cincinnati, last two years has been USF). Additionally, the winner of the division can be pointed to one specific game a season (Temple @ USF, USF @ Temple, USF @ UCF, Temple @ UCF). Whereas the West has more parity and the fate of the division isn't always determined until the last week. They also don't have as many terrible teams (SMU 2015, Tulane 2016, Tulsa 2017 stand out but none are as bad as the recent UConn teams).
