The average SAT score that get you into the Naval Academy is 1410. Very competitive and probably better than the average of any other school in the AAC.

For the curious ... The average SAT score for the Air Force Academy is 980. The average SAT score for West Point is 1300.

I don't even understand the SAT scores anymore. I took it in 2001, back when 1600 was a perfect score. I got a 1310.

What was the rationale behind changing it?

Okay a little correction just so we get the pecking / pecker order right. Prepscholar shows Tulanes average SAT score is also 1410... Same as Navy's. Smu's average ACT score is 1390.

If you’re so smart why don’t you figure it out?

Ok I will rephrase in the SAT format:
The SAT was changed:
A. to enhance student performance.
B. to provide opportunities for disadvantaged students.
C. to improve score comparisons.
D. for money.

Not sure how we can be Top Tier Carnegie and USNWR and be below North Georgia and Georgia College & State University in the 500s.

For the same reason I had a 1310 SAT and a 2.5 GPA. According to my guidance counselor at the time, I was very intelligent, but also very lazy.

Thanks for looking it up for me! 04-cheers

4 year graduation rate is, and always has been, a huge metric in their rankings. The fact that nearly 20,000 of our 45,000 students (in our three most highly reputable colleges...Engineering, DAAP, and Business) will not graduate in 4 years due to their programs having a mandatory co-op which pushes it to 5 years means they'll literally never be a highly ranked school in Forbes. They were in the 600's a few years ago, so they've lessened the impact of that outdated metric a bit. I'll just stick to the AWRU. That most significantly measures the positive societal impact and educational quality of an institution.

St. Joe's: 75% acceptance rate, 1140 SAT average
Temple: 58.5% acceptance rate (2018), 1240 SAT average

Temple is a significantly better school at a significantly lower cost, especially if you're in state. Forbes is clueless.
