There were easily 15k Wisconsin fans at USF.

UCF holds 45 and UC holds 40. Both were really good crowds.
15k? Really?

Exactly...more like 40K of the 45K.

I'm not saying you're wrong but you're wrong.

I think you don't understand how many people from Wisconsin now LIVE in Florida.

Yes, many Badger fans from Wisconsin did travel to Florida (most flew) for a long holiday weekend plus a football game but thousands at the game are now Florida residents.

Also, like how most from Wisconsin are diehard Packer Fans...The Badgers are THE college team for the state...even if you didn't go to school in Madison (most residents actually end up at the othe 84 Universities/Colleges in the state), almost ALL become/stay Badger fans. (Like 2 of my neighbors...none went to Madison but BOTH families are huge Badger fans).

NOTE: Back in the day, when the Tampa Bay Bucs use to be in the NFC Central with the Green Bay Packers...GB Fans would put 20k or more of the old Tampa Sombrero every time the Pack came into town...(plus cruise lines would have special cruises just for Packer Fans before or after games out of Tampa).

Still can't figure the Memphis attendance. The LB seemed full. I didn't see any empty seats.

We were not full, not even close. The last time I've seen full was Ole Miss 2015. We were full of empty pockets all around the Stadium.

I thought we switched to actual attendance around 2017, but I swear we announced 30+k one game on a Monsoon there was not more than 5k in actual attendance that was blatantly false.

Overall it was great crowd....just #$@# pissed off that the team laid an egg. Still not sure how you come out flat with a near sold out crowd, against a ranked opponent on national TV...and all the preseason hype.

Charlie is a great recruiter and coach. Unfortunately he’s good for at least one clunker a year. Usually a home game you would expect the team to be up for but they come out flatter than a pancake. We had at least one, sometimes more, of those every year he was in Louisville, sometimes we managed to overcome it and get a win, usually we didn’t.
Good luck the rest of the season.

1?

He has now lost 7 straight games...with the last 3 being HOME games at RJS...where they have been outscored 125-30 in those 3 home defeats.

Maybe you haven't followed much of his career since he left Louisville...as he has a losing record in conf play (21-22) and just 33-30 overall.

He appears to be a mediocre to barely-above-average coach.

He's lost at least six games in six seasons (out of nine).

Based on the opening night performance, this year will make seven seasons of at least six losses.

Might be a good idea for your AD to schedule another 1-1 with Wisconsin. I’m sure USF will get its act together next time plus have guaranteed home sellout.

I forgot UCF's stadium was so small. I just assumed a school of 60,000 would have a stadium of about 55k at least.

Honest to God, USF's attendance is more scrutinized than Kim Kardashian's ass. Posting pictures at angles to make it look however they want, discussing if it's real or artificially enhanced, and WAY too many people caring about it when it's really none of their fu(king business.

By my calculations, using Navy as the standard, UCF needs to build a 500,000 seat stadium and average between 91% and sellout for years. Until then, stop with the chest thumping. You nouveau bourgeois grow tiresome.

I was happy to see UC fill up Nippert, especially since there was a Bengals game and the KISS farewell tour in town that same evening.

It was built to be easily expanded to 60K or so if the consistent demand ever required it. Nearly every year we replace some bleacher seating with (fewer) premium seats, so even if the partial 3rd deck is ever added I don't think we will even reach 55K.

As it stands now it's still bigger than a bunch of Autonomy Conference team stadiums.

Memphis had tarps covering multiple end zone sections so it helped push fans who did show up into more fuller sections.

Also...Liberty Bowl might have the most rows of seats (mid field) for a stadium its size...as I think at the highest point on either side...there are more than 90 rows of seating...so many times the very top rows (hard to see) are empty as people move down. (Compared to UCF's on-campus stadium...there are just 46 rows, not counting suite tower), which is one of the main reasons why the stadium is LOUD since most fans are close to the field).

those tarps cover 1/2 of 3 endzone sections - physcially the smallest sections in the stadium and are there because those seats are too close to the giant video board. probably a loss of 1000 seats max.

You are right. Attendance is not the most important issue for USF.

44k isn't that small. It's similar or even larger to some P5 programs. UCF is still a young program with limited FBS history. 60k or something would be too large at this point. I could see in the next 5-10 years if demand keeps up, going to 50-55k and that be the max until either the AAC is elevated or a conference change is made.

I do think the students have shown it is justifiable to increase their capacity from the current 12,000 to at least 15,000. So that may accelerate expansion plans to closer to within 5 years away rather than 10.

UCF is also at just about 68000 students.

As an institution, does UCF believe they can get 25% of student body to a football game or not yet?

Well we only do 6 times or so our undergrad. 4-5 times our total enrollment, but we're not happy about it.

Not sure if that is the question more so than what's the balance to increase paid season ticket/single game sales revenue. I'm sure at this point, we could get 17-18k students in there, but that's less chance to get paid new revenue. For FAMU it looks like multiple thousands were turned away.

Obviously the students do pay an athletics fee, but that's revenue that will be there regardless of their attendance and doesn't only go to football. And a fee they ultimately agree to take on under existing terms.

UC reduced stadium capacity to 38,400 when they took out seats for the MLS FC Cincinnati club. Most of those seats will be replaced when the MLS club moves to their new stadium in two years.
