1. BYU will never be better than 8-4 in the AAC.

Just stop.

Did anyone think UCF would go from Back-to-Back Conf Champs (including BCS Fiesta Bowl win) to 0-12 the following year?

Did anyone predict UCF would go 13-0 2 years after finishing 0-12?

When usf got to #2 in the rankings for one week back in the early 2007 season...did anyone think that by 2019, usf would still be looking for their first EVER Conf (or Divisional) Title?

Point is...future is unknown...and no one knows what moving back to a conf would do for BYU recruiting (odds are, it can't get any worse so it should be improved).

Also...you posted 8-4 overall record...BYU could still go 8-0 in AAC Play but lose all of their non-conf games.

You were right when you thought your point was done prior....should have stopped right there.

I for one did... I liked UCF back when USF was invited and wished UCF and Memphis would have been invited as well... Didn't realize at the time how insecure the C-7 were and the fact that they were willing to destroy the BIG EAST to protect Basketball.

TCU @ BYU was first ever college football game that I attended in 1988 so I will always have a rooting interest in BYU.
I thought it was silly to invite USF and not UCF as both (with the right leadership) were obviously sleeping giants.

I think BYU's problem is what 18 y.o. guy want to go and compete there if he gets thrown out of school for consensual sex with a girlfriend, drinking or pot?
Even drinking a caffeine is frowned upon. Unless you are uber religious, I doubt many student athletes want to sign up for that. Gone are the Jim Mcmahon days of looking the other way.

Woulda, shoulda.

So the fact that UCF didn't get in with USF in 2005 still hurts so much that you don't really want to be here now that you are here?

I,m just stating what my opinion was back then... I did't have a vote then or now.

BYU failures are why UCONN will fail as an independent, but without the history, fanbase or access to talent (due to mission exemption)

They will only give it up when they are absolutely, 100% positive that it’s not going to work. As “meh” as the results have been so far, I don’t believe they have reached that point yet.

Biggest challenge for BYU they can't afford to begin their football season with an L or two b/c their fan base know now they have nothing to play at seasons end.

I am actually suprise they have not shown heavy interest in the AAC

So does this finally put an end to the posts saying we should add them?

Exactly the opposite.
Now that they suck, they should join the AAC.

Just means that it is old history. What UCF is doing right now means much more, especially with new contract.

I dislike BYU based on the Miami Beach Bowl that Memphis played against them several years ago. They play dirty football, IMHO.

However, their next game is versus UTay, and I also hate the Vols. Since this anti-Tennessee bias is long-standing, I suppose that I will have to pull for BYU to hand the Big Urange a second consecutive embarrassing loss in that small town on the Eastern end of our state.
