In the american, there is a wide range of needs and wide range of athletic budgets. I did not fault USF's buy game. If AAC was making 20+ million yeah I would crap on it. But we all need to eat.

You can watch it when you get home from watching UConn's glorious win over Bucknell earlier in the day to take the conference lead.

I don't have an issue playing Arkansas as a buy game. The reason, we've been regularly scheduling home and home series with P5's and with the announcement of NCSU and Boston College that will continue through 2029. Granted, Arkansas is not as relevant as in year's past but it is an SEC team - the best conference pound for pound. This will be good exposure for Cincinnati in that region/market and it is a winnable game. Here's our P5 H&H slate going back to 2007:

Oregon St 2007/2009
Oklahoma 2008/2010 [Home Game @PBS]
Illinois 2009/2013
NC State 2010/2011
Purdue 2013/2016
Miami, FL 2014/2015
UCLA 2018/2019
Nebraska 2020/2025
Indiana 2021/2022
Pitt 2023/2024
NC State 2023/2029
Boston College 2026/2027

I'd rather open with a buy game than not have a program.

USFFan

For the record, this newly invented mental gymnastics to spin signing 2-1's is not going to pass muster. If you sign a contact to play a team twice at their place and once at yours, that is not a Home and Home.

If they're going to pay USF to take that 2-1 deal then fine, that's part of your model, but this is not some home and home with a "buy game". It's a 2-1 that the other school paid to make happen.

When you say "pass mustard" and "mental gymnastics" I am afraid that it is you who is working hard to make this into what you want to believe.

When a team pays for a game, its called a Buy game. Cinci just got one with Arkansas.
If a team gets a home and home, then thats what we call it but magically when a UCF fan doesnt like what a rival team does, it is no longer a home and home with a buy game, because the UCF fan has some intrinsic need to make this sound worse.

How is it when you combine two well known terms then it all of a sudden it isnt those two things anymore?

Would it help you if we signed two separate contracts? It honestly is just getting silly.

Here's the thing, UCF can do what UCF wants to do. USF will too but our schedule includes some amazing top notch teams and in return we had to sign a few buy games with FAMU and Bethune Cookman... and UCF has games against FAMU but they don't have the high profile games.

You want equality and thats your right. You guys worked hard and thats the direction you want to go but disparaging a rival for getting a better schedule and an extra $5 million is just... silly!

and before anyone starts in on the whole "you made it so others couldnt get what we were asking for"... Ill remind you, that we dont work to help yall. $5 million and an amazing schedule. Enough said.
