Suspended indefinitely.

But if they played at Penn State under Joe Paterno, they would be made to pick up four pieces of trash in the stadium and made starters the next week.
You got his name wrong; St Joseph of Happy Valley. Where for decades he and other PSU Admins absolutely owned the State College Police force. Nothing got out of that echo chamber.
Joe Paterno showed the extent of his cognitive dissonance when he testified to the US House of Representatives that his purpose was to "save football from the Barry Switzer's of the world" after he knew that he had a pedophile as a DC.
What do you think Barry Switzer would have done with a pedophile as his DC & Assistant Head Coach?
Enjoy a fluff piece from 1978:

Sadly too many coaches are more concerned about their football team winning and the success of their players to follow up on real life disasters as Sandusky was. No one knows what any other coach, Switzer or otherwise, would have done. Thankfully those schools weren't, at least to our knowledge, plagued by the likes of Sandusky. It was a horrible period for PSU, one that tarnished all its previous success. Paterno took the brunt of the blame, but their were others who equally should have shared the responsibility, especially Sandusky himself.

They were trying to improve their NFL draft position.

Classic glass house syndrome. Paterno was the front man of the gig, he deserved the brunt. Sandusky is doing life & the former University President, & AD are professional pariahs for the rest of their lives.
The Northeast region of the country is not producing football talent out of high school in anywhere near the numbers they once did. PSU is fighting a PR and a diminishing recruiting reservoir battle with regional programs like they never have since Johnny Majors & Jackie Sherrill were at Pitt.
Go Temple!

We differ on the Paterno role but that's OK. I do agree Paterno was guilty as charged but far from the front man, that would be Sandusky.

As for the NE not producing talent, we disagree again. PSU still traditionally ranks top 15 recruiting every year. They do depend on national recruiting a little more than they once did but the NE is no more dead in producing talent than other parts of the country, with the exception of Florida and maybe Texas.

The Big 33 Classic showcasing the best in Pennsylvania has been held against Texas, Ohio, and currently Maryland, is a huge drawing event every year.
