SMU - football is just a means to get me to hoops season but for the first time since the fraud June Jones took us to two straight bowl games I'm very interested in SMU football. Sonny is twice the coach JJ ever was and he has brought in a lot of transfer talent. Should be a fun season. Hopefully we can beat the froggies.

MY LINE: UC 27-17. The travel eastward gets the Bruins.

MY LINE: UConn 27-23 While Wagner is pretty garbage, I think the cloud around UConn football dropping out of the AAC plays a big role in how close this game will be. If UConn decides to show some heart they could very well blow them out.

Florida A&M @ UCF CBSSN
MY LINE: UCF 47-17 I smell some ownage.

FIU @ Tulane ESPN3
MY LINE: Tulane 31-27 I think Tulane is slowly building something and they will be looking to capitalize on that bowl win. I think FIU is good enough to make a game of it right now.

MY LINE: Wisconsin 35-23 The 6 straight losses cloud over USF makes me think that Wisconsin comes in and takes this.

MY LINE: Michigan State 31-17 Unless Tulsa improved greatly in the offseason I don't see them going to Michigan State and getting it done.

ECU @ NCSU ACCN
MY LINE: NCSU 45-23 I was there in person for that L we took last year in Raleigh. Saw it first hand from the sidelines shooting the game. I think State wins this one but I will guarantee that ECU will not look as inept as it did last game. I'll put it this way though, if ECU and Coach Houston manage for some kind of magic based on last season's result putting the fire in the team to get a W or make it even closer than I think then I think there will be big things coming from ECU this year.

MY LINE: Memphis 31-27 Somehow SEC teams always get gifts they shouldn't against "G5" schools but I think Memphis is a better team and get this done since it is a home game.

MY LINE: Temple 31-10 This could very well be uglier than I think.

MY LINE: Navy 31-17 I think Navy can get this done handedly.

SMU @ Arkansas State ESPN+
MY LINE: Ark State 31-27 I'm really nervous about this game for SMU. They should win, but being it is a home game for Ark State, who isn't that bad.... I got a feeling Ark State pulls this off.

MY LINE: OU 45-33 I think Houston makes a good showing but I think OU is too good to give up their home opener to Houston.

If you want to take a flyer on one of your fellow AAC members, NCSU is not expected to be very good and they are breaking in a new starting QB. Besides that, ECU seems to own the in-state schools.

Its a tough call there.... how ECU ended last season and the complete rebuild we have had to endure based on coaching staff, talent, and all that kind of thing makes me wonder how much of a turnaround have we had to go back into their stadium pull it out.

Houston pulls off that upset, he darn well might get Sainthood at ECU LOL.

Tulane vs. FIU may be close, as will UC vs. UCLA... but both AAC teams should win.

Tulsa, USF and Houston lose. I think that the USF/UW game will be closer than some expect.

NCSU should beat the Pirates... but it will be closer than the Pack expects it will be. ECU will cover the 17.5 spread and wind up losing by no more than 10.

All of the other AAC teams win.
