We just don't quite have the acting department that Pitt does to really put on such great performances when they are needed most.

One game early in the season. Congrats

But my point wasn't football it was all the sports overall. UCF and USF could really improve there by being in the ACC. As good a season UCF had in their sports they would finish like 12th or 13th in the ACC for the Director's Cup and would not be undefeated in Football heading to a bowl game.

Just so we're clear, you think that outcome is any different if it were played later in the year? We took our foot off the gas and held the ball starting half way through the 3rd quarter and Pitt only got to 14 due to a garbage last second TD against our 3rd string defense. That game could have ended 60-7 if we wanted.

Your second point is laughable. You basically think that if UCF would join the ACC, that wouldn't be leveraged to improve sports across the board despite having as many advantages going for it as a university as any.

Yes, every Saturday is different. Kinda basic FB 101. Injuries are always a factor, weather is a factor, team mojo is a factor, luck is a factor.

Pitt turned around and beat Cuse at home after they lost badly to you. Cuse was one play away (actually one thrown flag) from beating Clemson at Death Valley. Every Saturday is different. However, UCF in my mind was a better team than Pitt (who won a weak Coastal by luck)

My Director's Cup Point is they finished last year behind like 12 ACC teams. Going to the ACC would help elevate all their other sports.

Yup...I used think 16 was a natural progression in conferences. TV money is so good right now only a few teams can bring in enough to be net neutral or better. 14 looks like it until further notice

If ND ever joins I can see one more team to join them (Cincy is my guess) but UCF or USF would be considered (but likely rejected by the FL teams and a few others)

RE: UCF season tickets: Sold Out!
Random thoughts:

- The term sell out seems to be a trending topic on this board: UCF sells out stadium, while UCONN sells out football program. Who would have thunk it in 2013?

- USF and/or UCF to the ACC makes the most sense geographically but will never happen b/c of FSU & UM. However, if playoffs are expanded to 8 and the AAC Champion gets an automatic bid every year, then the only difference would be TV contracts, which will only grow if we are successful. If this is the case, why would any of our teams want to move to the new Big Easts (aka B12)...or join an ACC that would be without FSU and likely Clemson and UNC? Need to play the long game with the football focused membership in the league right now, with a few exceptions. Moreover, if the AAC runner up also gets a shot at NYD bowl that is even more exposure and value for the league. Sans of a couple teams in the MWC...there really is no competition for a playoff spot.

- UCF fans b!tching on twitter about expanding their stadium are clueless. 45k to 50K is the perfect size in today's market. UCF should invest money in making the stadium secure....

- Bandwagonism is in full effect in Orlando...and rightly so. How quickly do fans stop coming if the teams suffers a few losses. So many fans are overlooking the impact of losing #10...and may be in for a rude awakening.

- Going to be fun walking out of a quiet stadium on Black Friday this year....07-coffee3

Yes because that kind of beat down is a result of what exactly? Luck, Weather...nope team skill and dominance in every facet of the game. Being in any P5 would elevate sports. Given the $$ and the conference schedules it would not be hard to imagine UCF in the to 20% of ACC

Top 20% in Basketball? Wow...LOL

Football means Top 3 programs? Occasionally you would be there but not always.

Brand means something and UCF Football doesn't have a brand comparable to the ACC programs save a few.

Oh come on.... we made the tourney last year and basically gave away the game to the crown jewel of the ACC, Duke. UCF wouldn't lose to anyone in the ACC except for Clemson in football. Our baseball team is almost always good, except the past couple years.

What programs besides Clemson, FSU, and maybe Miami have a better brand name right now than UCF? Syracuse? Then why did gameday go to UCF-Cincinnati instead of Syracuse-ND last year?
NC State- Irrelevant.
North Carolina-This isn't basketball.
Virginia Tech- Could make a case there.
Virginia- Nope.
Wake Forest- lol
Pitt- Nope.
BC- Irrelevant.
Louisville- Not really
Georgia Tech- Nope
Duke- see North Carolina.

So NDSU has a better brand too? LoL

Game day likes highlighting hot teams and special situations too.

UCF was a hot team last year until your QB went down. Brand is developed over decades not months.

Your basketball team would not have been anywhere near the top of the ACC.

We have been to 3 major bowls in 6 years. Our football brand is stronger than 75% of the ACC...yes. Basketball in general is irrelevant until you get to the ncaas. UCF basketball isn't a big brand... agree there although we can play with Duke.

So when was the last time Gameday went to Syracuse? Lol. Our basketball team wouldn't be anywhere near the top, but we almost beat Duke, who stomped the rest of the ACC teams.... makes sense.

Gameday has been to Syracuse in basketball. They are one of the elite brands in Hoops. They draw the most fans in the NCAAs.
BTW, our hoops team sucked last year for a Cuse team and we beat Duke at Duke last year.
BTW, Basketball does count for brand...UK, KU, UCLA, UConn, UNC, etc...all have built a huge brand in Hoops.

Gameday is expected to be in Syracuse on Sept 14th. ABC Primetime, 25+ cameras, spider cam, multiple broadcast angles, the whole 9 yards.

Look we sucked mostly for the last 15 years but Cuse is a historic program with numerous NFL and College HoF'ers, national championship, Heisman Trophy winner, and have been playing at the highest level for over 100 years. Cuse Brand brought 20-25K in Orange to Orlando last year. They outnumbered WVU who always travels well. Cuse would have qualified for the Orange Bowl but 2018 was a non-Orange Bowl year for the 2nd best ACC team.

UCF is developing a brand (a good one) but you can't jump ahead of historic programs with several great seasons in a tweener league.

Spoken like a true blue blood. Sure a school like UCF could jump ahead of historic programs that suck as of late if they were in a P5 program with all the money and exposure. UCF is producing alumni at an incredible rate that live and work all around the country. UCF is the largest university by total enrollment in the country. As history has proven you should never underestimate the motivated..especially when they are the size of UCF.

Game day likes highlighting hot teams and special situations too.

UCF was a hot team last year until your QB went down. Brand is developed over decades not months.

Your basketball team would not have been anywhere near the top of the ACC.

Actually gameday is probably going to be in Orlando for the UCF-Stanford game that day, depending if Stanford is undefeated. And today's recruits were barely alive the last time Syracuse was good in football (With the exception of last year). Basketball obviously Syracuse has a bigger brand, I was just saying we wouldn't be THAT bad in the ACC in basketball. Also, if I remember correctly, Zion didn't play in that game you beat them. And Zionless Duke tore through FSU, VT, UVA, etc.
