So if true, then UCONN had negligible value in ESPN's eyes.

Well, football is 70-80% of the monetary value of the contract, so what amazes me is why anybody would think otherwise.
And even in basketball, UConn finished 8th and T9 the last 2 years, so...

So each school may get more media money in addition to the exit fee and jettisoning the anchor of UConn football. Sweet!

Wait, I didn't say that at all. It's just that we aren't losing money, at the worst, so UConn made no difference to the number.

Did anybody ask if it would go up without the UConn boat anchor on football?

I mean in addition to dropping metric killing UConn football, the AAC receives UConn's exit fee and ( maybe) splitting UConn's media share (resulting in an increase per remaining school) instead of staying at about $7M per school.

We will be incrementally better off than before making forward progress. That's what excites me.

I'm listening to the new AD's intro presser. Pretty impressive. Bowen was good, but not too warm and fuzzy. This guy should be better at that part, building relationships. Right guy at the right time, hopefully.

RE: New Memphis AD
Quote:The press conference to formally introduce new University of Memphis athletic director Laird Veatch was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the lobby of the Laurie-Walton Family Basketball Center.
Instead, at 1:57 p.m., U of M board chairman Alan Graf stepped to a microphone and announced: “FedEx time, we start early.”
And so, the trend continues with this athletic department and with this president, M. David Rudd.
Do not wait.
Do not risk being late by merely being on schedule.
Do not just sit back and hope things get better or that the right candidate will fall into your lap.
Rather, do something now. Take action.
