Some are saying two in one state.

Hawaii could fairly easily get 4 games with PAC schools. They can already get 2 or 3 each year. Because of the Week 0 scheduling, Hawaii could probably still get 3 or 4 MWC schools each year.

The PAC and MWC could benefit by each scheduling 3 or 4 Week 0 games to kickoff the college football season. Those Week 0 games are worth some decent $$$.

BYU would be an annual opponent. Throw in one or two of the other independents and Hawaii would only need to schedule one other solid opponent and then grab an FCS game.

I believe fan interest, attendance, and recruiting would *improve* if Hawaii had a schedule that rotates through the PAC 12, plus BYU and has a couple of familiar MWC opponents each season. Something like this:

Home: UCLA, Cal, Nevada, FCS, New Mexico State, BYU
Road: Arizona, Oregon, Air Force, Wisconsin, San Diego State, Army

BYU, Army, Air Force, or Boise. Thats really what we are limited to. Outside of that and we dilute.

I dont think 2 of the four are even an option, so we look at possible 1.

Eastern Division

Cincinnati
ECU
Memphis
Navy/Wichita
South Florida
Temple
Tulane
UCF

Western Division

BYU
Colorado State
Fresno State
Houston
Nevada
San Diego State
SMU
Tulsa

No to BSU and their special deals. Air Force want's to be with the other Range Schools (Wyoming, Utah State and New Mexico). UNLV is a money pit. Utah State would work but BYU is better. SJSU no explanation needed. Hawaii never gonna happen.

Pods or 4 Divisions of 4 teams would be best but not necessary to start the process. Just play 8 Conference games playing a round-robin in your division and one permanent cross over until legislation is passed for the 4 division model and then introduce the legislation.

Yes,expand West and skip over the MWC best property????.If you think Boise is high headed you haven't seen anything yet until you been in a conference with BYU. If the AAC wants to expand West pulling in Boise, BYU, and CSU all sports balanced with Air Force Football only makes a lot more sense. If you want to go Coastal, then add SDSU and UNLV and that's it. Nobody else brings anything else. If UNM ever got football figured out then they would be the next man up.

We are trying to kill Boise. Kill their potential to play any good conference schools. 07-coffee3

SDSU?

This is why we never should have rushed to get Tulsa.

I have never quite understood why more teams don't try to play Hawaii at the start of the season (unless they're playing a week zero game annually?). I get that it's far away, but for any team in the West it would be fine.

SDSU is a great school but even in their market their tv ratings arent good and they would be so costly for travel that it doesnt make sense unless we add enough western partners... and there just isnt enough west that add value to make sense.

Agree. SDSU will own their market. UNLV & CSU with their new stadiums. BYU of course. Maybe AF. That is 5 for a nice western division. It's a 5 hour flight to SD from Orlando, so maybe half that from Dallas/Houston/Tulsa?

Unless ESPN is willing to add to the TV deal, any additions over 12 would dilute per team payouts. Other than VCU, Im not sure there is any addition that makes sense to add right now.

12 was the minimum for the championship game (and additional revenue), now that isn't the case. 9-10 is a good number. 07-coffee3
