Gee, I would have thought super Penny would have gotten his super team a game against Duke or Kansas or Kentucky... or somebody.

“Miracle” is too mild of a word to describe what it would take for Tulane to beat Mississippi State on 11/21. For now, just assume the 2nd round games are MSU vs Villanova and Tulane vs. Middle Tennessee. The other side of the bracket is Utah/Coastal Carolina and Baylor/Ohio Univ.
I don’t know who else is in the other tournament Tulane signed up for.

So is he skipping the conference tourney or just tanking the day 3 game (should you get there)?
You're misinterpreting. He never said anything about not going to a tourney where his team would have to play 4 straight games.
WSU fans have known it for years. Jank is interested in a schedule where he can win just enough games to keep his job. It's hard to fire somebody that won 22 games, even if none of them were against good competition.
I agree with your analysis of Jank.
For that reason alone I’m hoping that SMU gets lucky and gets both waivers. I don’t want any excuses coming out of Jankistan this year. I don’t want there to be any of the BS Jank spewed last season in defense of his job. If he gets both McNeil and Davis he’ll have a full roster capable of a top four AAC finish and an NCAA berth..... unless he can’t coach them and manage games better than he has in the past. (No way should we have lost on that last second shot to WSU last year... that’s on Jank)
Please let him sink or swim THIS season.

I'm very anti-Jank. But I should point out that I do think being a middling team/coach is a difficult spot for admins. There is risk and often significant cost associated with moving on. And even if you're right, you're likely resetting the clock by 2-3 years. Programs in the AAC need to be willing to take this risk. It drove me bonkers watching MVC teams keep coaches like Marty Simmons (.414 league win%) around for 11 freaking years. It's enough to sink a league.
So far from what I've seen at USF, Tulane, Temple and ECU (maybe a year slow) indicate those schools aren't interested in accepting not winning. I think you could even argue Cincy had the seat a little warm for a guy that was continually competing at the top of the league. That's encouraging.

Tulsa's admin has changed recently. We had a group that felt it was necessary to fire Wojcik (the schools all time winningest coach) 2 years early for under performing. Now, we have Haith doing the same thing and being given a contract extension.

I hope you are a new Tulsa fan and just don’t know what you’re talking about because otherwise it means you have some kind of personal grudge against Haith. Wojcik was Tulsa’s Jank. He built his winning seasons by playing the Little Sisters of the Poor because he got a bonus for winning 20 games. The highlight of his tenure was winning the CBI in its first year with his next biggest highlight being winning a game in the NIT. In 7 seasons he managed to make it to the postseason 3 times, the pay-to-play CBI and 2 NIT appearances. On top of that he was batshit crazy.
The AAC that Haith has coached in is much tougher than the CUSA that Woj coached in and in five years has a better record for post season appearances than Woj had in 7 with an NCAA appearance and an NIT appearance with a win. Many Tulsa fans will argue that the NIT should have been an NCAA bid as TU finished 2 in the league but was skipped over for a team finishing lower.
Has Haith underperformed compared to expectations? Most would say yes but to compare him to Wojcik is...well, batshit crazy.

Ask around on this board and see what people's opinion on Haith's achievements are. He is under performing just like Woj did. Woj (while he was batshit crazy) was building a squad from nothing in a 1 bid conference with one powerhouse (Memphis). Haith was handed a good team and underachieved (relative to the talent he was given) for two season then proceeded to tank the program for the next 3.
Neither are good coaches, and both should have been bought out early.

Battle for the Capital
Semifinals (Fri., Dec. 20)
Akron Zips (MAC) vs. Tulane Green Wave (American)
Liberty Flames (ASUN) vs. Towson Tigers (CAA)
akron (114) and liberty (56) and great net team ..so winning it would give tulane 2 tier 2 wins, maybe a tier 1 win

Well, they ARE the #1 recruiting class. Not sure if you'd heard that or not.
Why wouldn't they be a prime candidate for a CBS or ESPN made for TV game?
I guess world wide Wes only deals in humans...

Nobody can set anything up unless both schools agree. If you haven't read and don't understand Calipari's attitude about this, then debating it is a waste of time.
