What if... UConn knew that soon the state of Connecticut wasn't going to supplement

What if... UConn knew that soon the state of Connecticut wasn't going to supplement
their athletic spending any more, and they had to quickly trim $40-$45 million from their expenses? Would that be a good reason to move to the Big East and drop football?

It seems to me that it would almost be necessary. Hell, they might even have to drop a few non-revenue sports.
