Hypothetical
*ESPN leaves contract as-is, since there were stipulations that losing one member would not trigger a contract renegotiation.

*UCF wins 30 in a row and actually makes the playoffs.

*P5 get nervous. They develop a sneaky plan.

*B12 plucks UCF for big $$$.

*That's 2 schools gone. ESPN renegotiation triggered. SEC and their minions decide that AAC payout is giving them something close to a fair playing field. They tell ESPN they can either cut the money, or they will exercise the nuclear option and call up Cincy and Houston to the big leagues.

Plausible?
I don't think adding a school would prevent this scenario... but not sure.

Big 12 isn't doing anything until 2025 but that date is getting closer. I think UCF will the first call, but not before that date. ESPN just paid a $10 million extortion fee to not expand, so nothing is happening anytime soon.

The SEC and ACC are pretty full and care less about what the AAC is doing. The Big 12 could trigger mass expansion though.

RE: Hypothetical
Nah, could be some movement with the Big 12 depending on what happens but it won’t be until 2025. Could be announced around like 2022 though if it comes to pass. I’d expect additions mostly East of the remnants.

I see the 6 Big Public Schools all in metro areas at the front of the line:

UCF
USF
Houston
Cincy
Temple
Memphis

RE: Hypothetical
That's a little farfetched, frankly. Also, UCF winning 30 straight games is impossible unless if we're talking just regular season and conference championship games.

But as I've learned many, many times over the years, never say never. Stranger things have happened.

zoocrew: So you truly believe the Big 12 will go to 16, or do you think they'll lose both Okie schools and/or a couple Texas schools?
