East
Tier 1: Has UCF & UC as a toss up (really likes UC)
Tier 2: USF (more experienced, will be better and go to a bowl)
Tier 3: Alludes that Temple & ECU are both teams that may make a bowl but it will be a struggle due to transitional issues (Really likes Mike Houston hire but predicts ECU just misses bowl game although wouldn't be surprised if they do make it).
Tier 4: UCONN
West
Tier 1: Memphis (Talent & schedule to win division & "flirts" with NY6 bowl berth)
Tier 2: Houston loses a lot but will still be a contender in the West
Tier 3: Navy & SMU make a bowl
Tier 4: Tulane & Tulsa
ECU has its own sports talk radio station?

Greenville is no Atlanta, but we have sports talk.
No, sorry, meant solely devoted to ECU sports. I WISH we had that.

It's not actually 100%. For most of the year, there are about 6 hours of ECU stuff on each day. The rest of the time, they just pick up a National NBC Sports radio broadcast.
It picks up during football/baseball seasons, and when there are significant happenings around campus.
Wow. Helps to not be in a purely Pro Sports, P5 market.

Our secondary is now in good shape the other CB transfers are 3* and 4* from sec and b10 schools I think
I feel that we have this conversation every year. Houston routinely stocks up on these types of players. There is a reason that they washed out at their first university and Generally it is due to over hype or an injury. Last year a noted Houston poster listed seven or eight four star transfers to houston and all but two had baggage. I have a rule, every washout amounts to a loss of a star. For instance, by no means was Gunner Kiel the best college qb when he showed up in cincinnati. Before his drama, he was a good quarterback, but never a five star. The same could be said about many four star players from Ohio State that use Cincy as a rebound. The best players on Houston will be the players that were recruited and enrolled.
but not counting injuries i dont think a single transfer was a flop... houston flopped last year becuase of an insane amount of injuries (even noted in the podcast in the OP) 7 defensive starters and a qb that accounted for 80% of our offense
and the injuries werent just contained to the transfers, incase you say the injuries are transfer related
at full strength last year, i loved every single position group for houston except corner back which was trash..and ironically the problem with corner backs was that we didnt bring in enough transfers and were stuck using the subpar ones on roster
I believe that there was a transfer from Notre Dame? Nick Watkins.

We really need a good discussion on whether the FLAGSHIP for off-season championships belongs to Houston or ECU
Lol!

Navy currently leading the offseason flagship battle with 1 recruit. Houston has 3, and ECU, while getting low star guys, is getting a bunch.

he wasnt enough, watkins 2nd on the team in pass breakups and ints..he was on par with what i expected..but the whole core was a mess still
--we had 1 good but not great cb in watkins
--we had 1 cb (who was originally a WR for us) with elite measurables 6'4 4.3 speed..that was constantly beat ..but note he was still drafted on measurables (excused his poor play for only "recently" switching positions).. watch the tech/houston game..it was almost exclusively him getting beat
-- the rest of the cb core was a d2 transfer...and a bunch of 2star cbs who had never played d1 before last season...
its ironic that we've been horrible at CB for 3 straight seasons and havent brought in 1 touted CB beyond watkins in that span...i was optimistic last season because of the 6'4 4.3 guy (most expected a big year 2 jump for him, preseason highest rated projected aac draft pick)..
what was originally scary and why houston fans haven't really been confident till now was we didnt sign a single CB on signing day.. on paper our worst position was getting worse
but Dana has signed basically every DB that has come available ..we've signed 6 db since (2 still need waivers tho)
