Yup. This is a 2-1 that is good and even better than a buy game just to get a game with them.

This series is one where the stadium size is a benefit. Hopefully the increased buzz will naturally grow the home support.

USF deserves the same amount of praise for this one as the damning for Louisville and Miami.

If youll notice, Boise State used to follow a "Play anyone, anywhere at anytime" philosophy. Boise is a young program, like USF and its series like the ones we have signed that will make a name. We were willing to sign a series with Miami, because we feel like were at a point where we can win all three. Same with Lville. the UF an Bama series are about exposure and hoping we get in that knockout blow. Neither are invincible.

Whether or not we win, not only do we get exposure but we get PAID. Every one of these series we get at least a Million for the return trip but the beauty is also the massive payday from selling out 67,000 seats. We make good money when we sell out the lower bowl, but it goes way up when we sell out the third tier. (and no, the visiting university doesnt get free tickets, they pay for them)

Boise made its name by beating teams in major bowls. Go back and look their schedules aren't that impressive and still aren't. Oregon before they were really good, Washington state before leach, the Washington games were a big deal. Oregon St who has rarely ever been good.

As Boise climbed the public perception is was mostly about dominating the conference and the MW beating each other up between Utah, BYU, and TCU.

Hawaii was mildly successful, but followed the Boise scheduling model when they were. Fresno played and plays the schedule you are promoting. They never achieved glory and had several bad years even though Boise and Fresno both allowed non qualifiers or partial qualifiers.


The pay days are important.

why would they bother signing a mandate if it only affected individual teams? think about that

nice pickup by USF. Much better than Miami pickup. I am sure larger venue played a large role in the negotiations.
