I apologize for not posting every time we beat the hokies. Or commenting about the sweep this year. Buzz does seem to have gotten a handle on his sweating problem, that might help him at TAMU.

Good thing you haven't been waiting for a football victory to post about, huh?

Are you talking to GTS? Minnesota seems to confound ACC schools. But we did boat race those Chickens.

Since you are obviously fishing for a compliment, congratulations on UVA's win over a #16 seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It's the Wahoos' first NCAAT victory in 2 whole years, and I think maybe their first EVER over a pesky 16-seed.

Congratulations on keeping it interesting in both basketball games with us this year.04-cheers

1 ACC team in the sweet 16 and no mention?

FSU blew out a darling.

Again, I got to brag because I can't in the fall and nobody else will.

You just did. Best wishes preparing for next Thursday against Gonzaga. Get past them and all of a sudden my FSU to the Final Four pick looks pretty good...

Yes .... Go NOLES! Got you beating the Zags on the way to the Final Four, so keep on keepin' on!

5 ACC teams in the Sweet Sixteen.

Duke - Va Tech play each other, so guaranteed 1 in the Elite Eight. If the Noles can beat the Zags, and the seeds hold up with UVA and UNC, we'll have 4 in the Elite Eight.

That'll work.

Anyone know how much each win is worth to the conference? Is it somewhere around the $275K range?? Curious about the dough we are earning ....

ACC gets 5 into the sweet 16, including all Number 1 seeds (although Duke just barely).

All 1,2, and 3 seeds advance (only 2nd time ever), plus two of the 4 seeds, so you could say that truly the top 14 teams in the nation are playing each other next weekend. Shaping up to be an epic 3rd and 4th rounds.

Number of ACC teams to the Sweet 16 last 5 years:

2015 - 5
2016 - 6
2017 - 1
2018 - 4
2019 - 5

Amazing stat.

Cheers,
Neil

Bless your heart. It must be hard when your best season in school history is most known for being an iconic footstep on the way to Georgia Tech's 4th National Championship. If Geoff Collins wins a NC, GT will have as many national titles as UVA will have conference titles. And it isn't like UVA has been playing murderer's row in their conference history. GT has more than 5 SEC titles, for instance.

Florida State is playing decent defense, but...

...they'd have a hard time throwing the ball in the ocean if they were standing on a boat (38% shooting).

My bracket is now officially trash. I had FSU and TN in the final 4. The Mrs is kicking my butt this year.

It has been pretty "chalky" so far. Unlike the last few years

I liked watching that Tennessee team, sorry to see them fall.

Michigan pretty much blew my bracket, I had them in the FF. Texas Tech is going to give the Zags a heck of a game.

Same here. I was leading my group after picking 15 of 16, but having FSU and Tenn in the Final 4 killed me. I had UNC beating Duke for the title.

If FSU didn't have 2 players out with injury, a 3rd playing with an injury (Trent Forrest, injured all season), and a 4th injured during the game (Savoy), FSU might have done more damage.

Just too many injuries. Gonzaga is deserving for sure though.

UNC, really?

It must be the probation and scholarship sanctions finally catching up to you.

No, they just got outplayed. Getting a #1 seed was a MAJOR accomplishment this year. Part of it was due to Coby White catching absolute fire down the stretch and becoming a legitimate superstar.

Auburn played a marvelous game and if they keep shooting like that they’ll be an extremely hard out.

But here’s a zinger since you want to throw those around: Syracuse bounced in the first round by a football school, must be the creepy touchy feely assistant coach on the sideline for all those years catching up?
