You are exactly right.

UT is 2 - 6 vs. teams with a winning record. Going backwards as was stated earlier. I hope JC can look at the staff and make some needed changes. hate to be MOB as I'm sure he thought he was making a great hire and now it looks a little shaky! Time will tell.

Maybe Candle resigns? No one wants him now.

No way in hell he resigns...he has the best job in the MAC: great money, a handful of years left on his contract, an AD who adores him, and even if attendance at home games dropped by 50% it would still be more than half of the conference so mediocrity will be accepted.

I still want Candle. I see great potential in him and like him as a Toledo guy. I just think he needs to change up some of his assistants who haven’t seemed to catch on quite as well to the FBS level, coming directly from D3.

His quote about tackling is telling. Makes you wonder why Linebackers weren’t a focus in recruiting... but hey we got a bunch of 155 -170 pound DBs...That should help. Hopefully this doesn’t indicate he beloved scheme and coaching is the a big part of the problem.

I knew the unusually high winds would effect the down field passing game. Just like in bad weather games you need a dominant OL to be able to run the FB to win.
The late change in QBs for FIU to a more athletic one, that UT didn't really practice and plan for combined with the bad winds had worrying going into the game.

Defensively you aren't going to win giving the opposing QB all day to throw the FB.
No pressures, no sacks, no INTS. Giving up first downs on 3rd and 6, 3rd and 8, etc., things aren't working. Education or execution, bottom line, both are Coaches' responsibility. There isn't a job I've ever worked at, where not getting it done is given a pass. Need some changes now. Not getting it done versus an Alabama is understable. Against a mediocre team, where you are favored, it should not be tolerated. Make the needed changes.

The fact that Carter Bradley did not play in second quarter for meaningful series tells me that Candle is not interested in developing a QB with an eye to future. Peters and QBG are not the answer.

I did not take time off work to watch this one. This team is not worth it. Thank you DVR

I believe he's referring to the fact that NIU has lost 6 straight Bowl games,
UT only 3.

You missed Koback's fumble on the FIU 2 yd line. Ultimately the difference in the game. Two dropped passes by Rocket receivers also were significant in the loss. Two inside zone runs, where the defensive scheme hurt UT and a DE losing containment resulted in the 3 rushing TDs for FIU. Peters was not the issue. He gave UT the best chance to win.
