If a game isn't easily drivable anyone not related to a player going to the game is gravy. 11 hour drive from Lafayette to Orlando. I really had expected the Cajuns to get Mobile or Montgomery and GaSo Orlando (nearly identical drives to Monty and Orlando). Montgomery would have been half as far for Louisiana. Boone to NOLA is basically the same drive as Lafayette to Orlando.
When you ask people to drive for more hours than they spend in a day at work and bark at them about attendance, it is just ridiculous.
As the the game, Cajuns just couldn't get a stop when they needed it.
Lots of families, including mine, had either just got back from Disney or have a trip planned for Christmas. Some had made the trip to Boone as well. We're not poor people, but swinging multiple, long trips like that on short notice was just not in the cards.
Then, a flight out of Lafayette Friday was cancelled for mechanical failure.
Still, if none of that had transpired, I don't think we would have brought more than 2k. We're not there yet.

I thought attendance was pretty good for the short notice. I'm sorta curious how many tickets our ticket office sold, as there was a promotion to purchase $25 tickets through the RCAF for a tax deduction. Tickets would then be donated to an Orlando charity.
Our flight at 8 pm on Friday night was cancelled so we made the 9 hour drive from NO to Orlando overnight.
