Tulane steps its game up.
So Tulane made a bowl this year. The first in quite a while. What do they do two days later? Fire their OC who has been at the coaches side for the past 7 years at multiple schools. In the midst of a successful season Tulane and Fritz are still looking to get better at places they were deficient.

There is a lot of talk about high expectations from others on this board. I want the conference to be as strong as possible. That said, ECU is still on the runway, as is UCONN. What do USF and Houston do after disappointing seasons. Tulsa, how patient are you guys gonna be up there?

Don't be ridiculous. Diaco also got UCONN to 6 wins and a bowl game.

Houston has already fired the DC, and lots of chatter that Charlie Strong will move on from OC Sterlin Gilbert.

RE: Tulane steps its game up.
I think most Tulsa fans expect Monty to be retained strictly because we extended him not too long ago. He's got a transfer QB from Baylor that knows his offense and should be the heir apparent next season. Most fans also think something needs to be done offensively. A lot of people are calling for Monty to grab an OC and relinquish play calling which I could imagine happening although I don't know how much a new play caller will do unless we run a completely new offense.

As you can see from my signature, our offense can run pretty well when it's played correctly. I think we'll see one more year of Monty trying to find that success again. Our defense certainly improved this season compared to the last couple after a complete overhaul of the scheme and a new secondary coach was hired. We'll see what we can do next season.

I don't understand your point?

Are you comparing Diaco to Fritz? Fritz has been there 3 years improving his win total each year.

Edsall is 3-8, 1-11. Where does that leave UCONN?

The only reason Tulane didn’t have a winning record this year was that it wasn’t fortunate enough to draw UConn from the East instead of Cincy.

If Tulane’s OC knew how to scheme receivers open, had heard of a screen pass or a rub route, or any route that featured movement beyond 5 yards from scrimmage?

Tulane would be 9-3 and the OC would still have a job.

I’m honestly schocked. Tulane didn’t settle for mediocrity. About time.

This is beginning to look like a soap opera in the AAC!!!

But all of the East teams had to play Cincinnati. And UCF, Temple and USF.
