Worst stadiums in America
Interesting article on moneywise.com

Unfortunately MAC is well-(is that the right word for "worst"?) represented.

RE: Worst stadiums in America
Not sure how Kent’s Dix Stadium didn’t make the list. Been there a couple times and it’s on my personal list of non Favorites!

RE: Worst stadiums in America
I think they base "bad stadium" mostly based on attendance. Otherwise, Akron wouldn't have been on the list with their new, nice stadium. I don't think the list was well thought out.

I'd base it on (1) Experience for a fan experiencing all the checkmarks of a stadium, including the screens, and (2) Attendance/Noise-Level.

- Accessibility to traverse thru the stadium during the game compared to others
- Length of lines in bathrooms
- Quality of bathrooms
- # and size of screens around the stadium
- Availability of food/drink (alcohol gets a +1)

- Sellout not required to hit max on attendance, but does it Noticeably fall short on attendance? Like half full or less?
- How loud it gets. A stadium containing loudness of fans > ones that don't containing it so well
- A 30k stadium containing the loudness well, where it sounds/feels louder than an 80k stadium is ranked higher, IMO.

I haven't seen the list, but the reality is that there are a lot of bad stadiums in the MAC.

Kent, Buffalo, Bowling Green, CMU, EMU and more...all have major drawbacks or are just flat-out ugly and bush league.

RE: Worst stadiums in America
I much prefer the smaller stadiums, well laid out, comfortable, and good sight lines. Access to the stadium is another big factor. Architecture is a factor too, as it should look nice, inside and out, and have character which distinguishes the stadium from others. Plenty of bathrooms (and lose points for having trough style urinals). Concessions are important in that there should be plenty, but I don't really need fancy stuff, as I typically want to eat ballpark food at a ballpark.

Waldo really scores well on most factors. We are fortunate to have one of the best MAC stadiums, and one which rates high on most standards. We attended a game at EMU this year, which is my first there in many years, and I was surprised how pleasant an experience it was. The stadium itself fails, and the track around the field is bush league, but the parking access was perhaps the best of any stadium I have been to, and it was free. Concessions we're tremendous. And EMU was kind enough to loose to Army, which I felt was very thoughtful.
