#2 Clemson is upset by Pitt
#3 Notre Dame loses to a USC team desperate to get bowl eligible.
#4 Michigan loses to OSU, who they have issues with
#5 Georgia loses to Alabama
#6 Oklahoma loses to W. Virginia after looking very beatable.
#7 LSU gets taken down by ol Jimbo

Instead of mindlessly blasting a team from a conference they never watch, they actually got to see UCF's team this past weekend and see our campus/fanbase. Herbie even admitted that he was shocked by what he found at UCF.
Imagine if they had stopped commenting with their eyes closed weeks ago? If only Herbie had tuned in to see UCF utterly dominate Pitt (he didn't).
RE: College Football Playoff Rankings Reaction - 11/20/2018
My take is that UCF is one spot short of making an 8 team playoff, if it ever goes to that. They will not make a 4 team playoff if they didn't make it last year or this year. Only Boise, with long reputation, might crash a 4 team playoff from a G5 conference, although UCF is starting to earn that reputation too.

The thing is- people always frame this as UCF vs Bama but that's really not what's relevant here.
What's relevant is UCF vs ND or Michigan who will occupy the 2 last spots. I am 100% certain that UCF could play with and beat both teams.

Thats true. I also never thought of the LSU arguement of we already saw them get their asses handed to them, why do we want to see it twice.

Boise would not either. The glass ceiling is real.

Marginal. I think a NY6 payday is $2 million. Semi-final is $4 million. CFP title game is $6 million.
A big part of the restructuring was taking the money out of the games themselves and just giving it to the power conferences no matter what.
That is why the G4 conferences were excited about the new playoff payout system. They got a huge increase in pay for essentially doing nothing. The AAC went way down from an automatic spot in the BCS. Really the only conference to get screwed by the new format. The $4 million dollar payment does very little. Expenses come out of that and if you don't make your allotment money comes out of that too. When all is said and done maybe $2 million gets distributed around the conference assuming the allotment is sold out. So less than $200K each.

Pitt didn't just lose to UCF this week though. They're on a 4 game winning streak, and winning 5 of the last 6 with the loss being against #3 ND. Cincy is coming off a loss, so they move down.
RE: College Football Playoff Rankings Reaction - 11/20/2018
UCF ends #7-8 no matter how good or how bad teams do in front or behind them. A couple teams in front will lose but UCF will be leap frogged by a couple teams behind that won.

Delusional to think osu beats Michigan and doesn't move ahead of you.
I do not think it is so far-fetched if we obliterate the Bulls at RayJay, then win the title. I think they keep us ahead of them.
You flatter me. But beating usf this year is a low quality win. No way it's enough to hold off beating #4

THe problem with this line of thinking is the fact that even if Bama loses to Auburn, you know the CFP still keeps them in the Top 4.
Cincy should have been Top 20 before our game and remained Top 25 after. It makes no sense to declare a prior Top 25 team no longer worthy of being ranked simply because they lost to a Top 10 team at home.

Talk about threading a needle lol.
I would say Clemson losing to Pitt and USC beating Notre Dame are really the only two reaches in that scenario and they really aren't much of a reach. Clemson has yet to be challenged and Pitt has faced some very good teams to prepare them. USC/Notre Dame is a rivalry game. USC has loads of talent and need the win to make the bowl.
I would say the rest of my scenarios aren't only possible but probable out comes.
