This is actually the first year it even feels like a rivalry and that has more to do with the fact that by us winning we crush ULM’s bowl hopes. Then add to the fact that a win by the Cajuns sticks it to stAte twice in the same season.

It’s not very often that we have a chance to do both. Especially in the last three years.

Or with ULM winning we crush ULL's bowl hopes and relegate them to second place in the west division. And ASU gets to play 14 games in 2018.

If we play to our regular level on offense and decent on defense we will win....

Think we should call it Battle between North vs South. We can have a North vs. South trophy. It would help cultivate a rivalry, and create fan interest for the game.

This game will never be a rivalry. The game that is a rivalry for our players is Arkansas St. And it's catching on with our fans....that's the game that could develop into a real rivalry.....if our respective Athletic Directors would wake up to it.

What is your definition of a rivalry? It is a rivalry because of the hate and most players know and played with one another. I know you think it makes you sound cooler and above us to say it’s not a rivalry, but it is. Not the biggest maybe, but still a rivalry. We have more hate for tech than y’all or at least older fans do. Back to the game though, we just never seem to win the big game when it’s all on the line and that’s my concern for this game.

Similarly Tech could easily be considered our biggest rivalry having played them in the neighborhood of 100 times; but that has cooled off considerably due to fewer meetings in the past 15-20 years. I agree with the stAte rivalry position due to our longer-standing conference affiliation. But none of that matters TODAY! Geaux Cajuns!!!

I’m not saying they aren’t a bigger rival. I don’t know. But Warhawks and Cajuns is somewhat of a rivalry and if we have more games with as much on the line today, it will only grow. You even have several of our former coaches.

I will agree that it is growing as a rivalry, particularly with the younger fans/students.

It’s a rivalry and you can have more than one rivalry. If you want to say Atsate is more of rivalry I can buy that. I’ll agree with Arrowhead about sounding cool. Lol. No disrespect but it makes people sound like a douche saying it’s not a rivalry.

I reckon the two division set up its a success. Last weekend and 3 games actually determine who plays in the CCG game. Troy and APP heads up. Louisiana and ULM with a win by the Warhawks makes the Txst vs stAte relevant. Going to be a fun Saturday. It's also great all 3 games are on Sat.

I think the divisional setup even makes ULM-stAte more of a rivalry. We definitely have a long history together as well, but if we could win a game against y’all this millinium that would help.

It’s a forced rivalry. Our true rival in the Sun a belt is stAte and South Al.

Seriously, it’s ok for this game to count for something, but it’s not what our fans consider a rivalry.

Just like for ULM, LaTurd and Northwestern St are much bigger rivals than we are for your program.

I definitely didn’t say you are our biggest rival, but the fact we are both from Louisiana, recruit the same area, and are both in Louisiana makes it a rivalry. Maybe not the biggest, but a rivalry. I know you are too cool to say so and your Cajun brothers would dog you, but it is what it is. It hurts more to lose to us than others. That’s a rivalry.

Well yeah because we are the superior program. No one likes losing to a lesser program.

Cajuns are the far better team as I expected. Providing nothing strange happens, this will save us from having to give Blake Anderson a contract extension he doesn't deserve.

ULM is a better QB and a defense away from being a decent team. Evans is so hit and miss. He's missed 2 wide open receivers already. He has to make plays with his legs for the Warhawks to have any shot.
