Channeling my inner Mike Gundy... but seriously, QB is the tough spot where if you aren’t starting, you generally aren’t playing.

He will do well wherever he ends up... but I worried he was going to be shuffled down the depth chart and eventually lose interest.

This surprises you? We have too much depth at QB... Rector is looking at a lower level program.

I think we are going to see more roster attrition than usual.

RE: Rector transferring
This is not unusual. I knew either Eleby or Rector would transfer eventually. We have 6 QBs, at least 4 on scholarship. All would have come back next year and we add another scholly QB in the incoming class. There's no way we would have held on to those 5 scholarship QBs for the duration of their college career.

At the QB position, you have two options: being the starter or riding the bench. Very common for guys to look for playing time elsewhere.

I wish Wyatt all the best. I hope he finds what he's looking for. He seemed like a good kid from a nice family.

Flush, I've been to every game this year, except for the Georgia State game. Believe me when I say this ..... NOTHING surprises me!!!! I think I've done a pretty good job about not complaining about this season. I've held it in, but to be honest, I can't wait for the final gun Tuesday night. I've had enough!!!! Our season ended just like last year, when Jon Wassink tried to get another yard!!! That's all it took!!!! And now we're about to see the fall out from that!!!!

RE: Rector transferring
Does this sound familiar? I saw this coming and have spoken about it SEVERAL times in my posts! Rector Knows Wassink will be the starter next year and he won't have a chance to compete for the job. AGAIN, is it worth losing young QB's for a 5th year SENIOR who has screws in his foot? Rector could have really helped this program in the years to come.

RE: Rector transferring
I respectfully disagree with you. Jon going down again is NOT the reason why the season has turned. We played tougher teams and the defense was AWFUL! That's evident with them firing the defensive coach. I think it was a step in the right direction for sure. The BIGGER problem is potentially losing two young QB's to protect injury prone Wassink for next year.

Most likely had nothing to do with Wassink. More that Eleby has passed him. He is open to FCS, which speaks volumes..

I think it speaks he just wants to play immediately. FCS schools pluck transfer QBs all the time.

Saw Wyatt play down here several times. He’s talented and I certainly support his decision to move on. Mom and Dad both posted on this board and are class acts. Good luck Wyatt.
