I just have one thing to say to this team......Cut out the late hits and running your mouthes after a play. We had approximately 75-90 yards in penalties not from holding or play related infractions, but from lack of discipline. We've done it ALL year to. It almost cost UAB a game last night. Last night while the refs were walking down the field marking off one unsportsmen like penalty, one of DB's was mouthing off to their coaches and bench. The ref had to separate him from the situation and at first reached for his flag but thankfully didn't throw it. Make it easier on yourselves and shut up and let YOUR PLAY do your talking. Go Blazers!

Well, since you brought it up...

I 100% agree with you. I don't understand why this team continues to get these penalties. Some of these guys are too old for this lack of composure.

At this point in the season it just seems to be part of our game. We've overcome it (mostly-CCU) so far but I keep on hoping we clean it up.

Yeah, we have some idiots on defense who get dumb penalties every game, then raise their hands like they did nothing wrong. Normally you see stupid penalties in a rivalry game, but these penalties are consistent.

I'll say it. Our nasty defense are bullies...as they should be. They play with a lot of meanness and emotion out there. They should keep themselves under control, though. Teams have obviously been provoking them knowing their personal foul tendency. I, too, thought last night was the game that would could lose as a result. Thankfully, we didn't. But now we are probably in for our toughest stretch of the season - at Tx A&M, at MTSU, and MTSU, again(probably). We can't afford to give up those kind of yards, especially when they extend drives.

Absolutely agreed it is a hindrance. But it may just be just be the overburden we have to bear for having 11 surly men on D. On the upside, none of them will let themselves be soft because of it.

Composure is going to be key next week. TAMU is going to bait us heavily. And if 2 or 3 get tossed, we will lose them for MTSU too.
