To be fair, any bowl team is going to kill us. At least Brovol could enjoy himself a little.

Hey, one game we don't need to worry about covering receivers much!

I watched most of the Army at EMU game. Army made some great passes in that game.

RE: Brovol's Serendipity
I would love that. Would allow me to watch both teams. I hate rooting against Army though, and that is what I would be doing. But that game would still be perfect, because my son will actually be home from West Point for the holidays, and family could all go together, just like we used to. I have a feeling everyone in my clan except me would be rooting for Army though, even though my wife and kids are great Bronco fans.
It would be a very tough matchup for WMU. Army is tough to defend for even the best defenses. They make the four yard fullback dive look like poetry, and really are polished at the triple option. Army now has a qb who is actually an outstanding passer, so there is more balance in its offense than you would expect. Defensively they are very good too.
I doubt highly that Army will land in Detroit. They like having academies in the military and armed service bowls, and only Army will likely be eligible. I also think Army should beat Navy, and if so I'm willing to bet that they would be ranked (assuming they beat Colgate, which shouldn't be assumed because Colgate is excellent, ranked in FCS, and has only given up a handful of points all year).
Would LOVE to get that game though. Ford Field is a perfect venue.

Army likely not playing at Ford Field. Agree with Brovol on his points. Also Army is a national team, would generate more ratings and get invited to larger bowl. I see a 6-6 ACC or B10 team at Ford vs a 7 win MAC team

RE: Brovol's Serendipity
Currently 6 MAC teams bowl eligible. This will likely be 7 once Miami beats Ball State.
Small chance at 8, if Akron beats BG (likely) and Ohio (unlikely).
Any number-crunchers out there giving a projection on # of bowl eligible teams across FBS? A season where they are digging up 5-7 P5 teams, or one where a few 6-6 will be sitting home?
If it's the latter, it's almost a certainty we'll be put on the chopping block again. We're a smallish program in the far north, hundreds of miles from all bowl cities outside of Detroit, riding into the post season on a 4 game losing skid with hardly anyone making that trip.

RE: Brovol's Serendipity
Current Yahoo projection has us playing Nevada (who would mop the floor with us) in the potato fest.
Would present a similar situation for me as brovol’s if we played Army.

71 teams in, 24 still with a chance. Some of those play each other.
