AZ Trooper's union pulls endorsement of Sinema after membership backlash
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/arizona...enate-race

Quote:An Arizona union that represents state public safety employees withdrew its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Kyrsten Sinema this week after its members said the executive board voted on the endorsement without their input.

Sinema, a Democrat, is locked in a tight U.S. Senate race against U.S. Rep. Martha McSally, a Republican, for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Jeff Flake.

After members objected to the board's actions, the Arizona State Troopers Association polled its members in an email Monday, asking whether they wanted to endorse Sinema or stay neutral, the Arizona Republic reported.

The poll indicated “the membership has indicated a preference to stay neutral."

"All members are encouraged to vote for the candidate they personally support," the email said. "AZTroopers will refrain from any political statements concerning the race until the conclusion of the election."

Dave McDowell, an association member and retired lieutenant, told the paper that members hadn’t been consulted prior to the Sinema endorsement.

“That displeased a number of members, including myself,” McDowell said.

McDowell said he supports McSally, but doesn’t think the union should be endorsing candidates at all.

"The Troopers have spoken," a McSally campaign spokeswoman said in a text message to the Republic.

Note that endorsing McSally wasn't an option for this union.

Public unions are fricked.

Union leadership have been in bed with the Democrats for forever. It seems that the membership is finally figuring out that while Democrats say they are all for union members - their actions don't always reflect union interests. Given too many Dems stance on Law Enforcement - I'm amazed any of those guys are in the Democratic camp.........

It's the same thing the IAFF did in the last Presidential election. There was so much backlash from the membership against Clinton that they simply declined to endorse anyone.

Most of the law enforcement unions used the 2016 Presidential election to send a message to the dims that if they were going to continue to treat law enforcement as the enemy that they would actually be the enemy.

Yeah. After all, they're still a union.

The fact that they ever endorsed that lunatic in the first place is discouraging.

There should be no such thing as a public sector union. These people are working for the taxpayer and are already treated fairly. If government employees insist on having a union, they can get a job in the private sector. Just for the record, I am a retired government worker.

Last year the APD Union endorsed our now Democrat Progressive mayor.

This year they endorsed the Republican for Governor.
