For some, it’s not enough to have bowl eligibility staring you in the face your first full unrestricted year as an FBS team...

2017 stats:
12 games with 3 wins vs teams that went 10-28
Road wins: 1
Scored 24 PPG
Allowed 34 PPG
Avg 62 YPG in penalties
3d down conversion % = 36%
4th down conversions = 7 of 17 or 41%
Leading rusher gained 724 yds with 7 TDs
Rushing TD totals = 15
Total rushing yards = 1875
QB comp % = 52%
TDs / INTs = 11 to 5
FG % = 63
Sacks = 15
Blocks = 2

Current 2018 stats:
7 games with 4 wins vs teams that are currently 16-13 (includes one bowl team from last year who is 6-1)
Road wins: 3
Scoring 31 PPG
Allowing 32 PPG
Avg 45 YPG in penalties
3d down conversion % = 43% (2nd in SBC)
4th down conversions = 8 of 10 (1st in SBC)
Leading rusher has gained 624 yards with 8 TDs
Rushing TD totals = 16
Total rushing yards = 1762
QB comp % = 66
TDs to INT = 12 to 4
FG % = 80
Sacks = 15
Blocks = 2

Thanks to our Coastal radio guy extrodinaire for the comps...

It doesn't matter if you beat Louisiana because of a slow start.....you won....period.

Reality is that there are no CCU fans that are dismissing the ULL win. That’s a made up line.

It was an impressive win to go on the road and beat you guys. I think it was our most impressive showing of the season.

The win that is most widely acknowledged as better on paper than it was in reality is our UAB win.

Anyone who watched that game with any sense saw what happened. UAB completely imploded in an astoundingly epic way. But a win is a win so we will take it.

I really don’t think you have a clue how this game works.

We outscored UAB 40-3 the last 25 minutes of the game.

Was CCU in the locker room when UAB said we are going to just give it up.

It was an adjustment or 2 on defense and then the offense behind a young but talented line began to absolutely control the game

UAB then became one dimensional and couldn’t keep up

Oh dear goodness. You’re not going to find many non-biased people that are going to agree with you on that.

But you’re free to believe that.

The good news is that history will never remember UAB’s implosion. History will only remember that we won. And that’s what matters most.

I'm going to give Lunsford an A- only because we have been inconsistent at times this season. While I could chalk that up to youth and this being the third coaching staff some of our kids have played for I still feel like a few of our glaring problems could have been fixed by now. Considering our last new coach was an F- in my book Lunsford is a godsend.

Wow. You're a tough grader! I'm glad I didn't have you for a class "back in the day." 03-lmfao

I had a biology teacher in 10th grade that gave us 150 question tests every friday - fill in the blank, and if you spelled anything wrong, you got did not get credit for your answer.

Final project was collecting 30 or 40 plants from around the region, and some you had to cross state lines into GA and FL to get them. There was one that was worth 99 points though, and it was illegal to pick in any of the nearby states. I think it was called Selaginella apoda. Someone in our class had it shipped on Ebay (teacher did not think of this an option in 2002) and sold pieces of it to anyone who wanted it for $15 a piece. Human ingenuity, man. It was a great day for the people of Ms. Dees' 10th grade biology class.

Campbell gets a solid D- to this point. I expect him to turn things around eventually, but so far, we are the same team as in years past, minus the occasional good games.

RE: New Coaches Midseason Grades
If your team is doing better than you expected under a new coach, he gets a high grade.

Personally, I think Coastal, with one win away from bowl eligibility, has had a great season.
The Cajuns, who have a chance at a bowl, are doing it while starting two walkons and a converted WR on defense.
Georgia Southern is having an amazing year.

All three of these coaches should be getting high praise from their fan base.
