RE: Fireteis.com
The banner was a great success. Almost doubled the total views on the website to that point.

It was awesome to see and I'm encouraged by the increase in interest I've seen since. I've had a lot of dm's coming through from people with interesting and unique stories about how the AD has failed them. Previous players parents included. To say our fan base is ready for a change would be an understatement.

I've scratched my head for a number of years as to why she continues to cling to such an incompetent AD. While I've no proof, I can only conclude that Teis must have compromising photos of the good Prez. Must be really good stuff too.

Not sure if you are on twitter or not, but a fan overheard one of the asst. AD's saying "Well, I hope they had fun throwing away $700!" and laughing. (to be fair, not a direct quote, I am paraphrasing).

Also, on twitter, the guys at Forgotten 5 showed Teis' annual performance reviews, as well as his contract and Withers reviews.

Teis' reviews indicated Trauth has absolutely no concern for a winning program (until last season when she mentioned in passing that we should be seeing more wins in football), in any sport.

Withers' reviews had no notes, only completed goals listed, even if they weren't attained.

So yeah, I don't think this in and of itself will end up getting Teis removed. I think (hope) it mobilizes the fanbase to collectively put pressure on Trauth to make a move.

Luckily, Trauth is doing a "sit down with the President" for students this week, and a student was more than happy to take many of our questions to Trauth.

I think the big issue is that Larry has sold Trauth on the notion that our fans are unrealistic. His interview where he noted how the upset fans all thought we should be in the Big XII was total smoke and mirrors, which Trauth seems to have bought. So hopefully the student with questions to ask from a few reporters can hopefully demonstrate the real reason that folks want Teis gone.

I hope they realize that's $700 that probably would have gone to donations. It might be trivial in the grand scheme of things, but there is ZERO chance it doesn't have the administration's attention. And I believe that is exactly what those that donated the money wanted to accomplish.

No executive wants bad press. Texas State competes for students, faculty, research, etc. Anything that negatively impacts an outsider's perception of the campus must be dealt with.

RE: Fireteis.com
Great point but $700 was actually just the crowd funded part of what was donated. We had a BMD step in at the last minute and triple the banner's flight time. With websites and fees included, donations were around $1850. There were others that wanted to contribute too but we stopped taking donations after reaching our initial goal.

I won't speak for the organizer (he's on here and can speak for himself), but I think that's the message that was being conveyed.

In a time where the AD is watching donations dwindles significantly over recent years, a (no offense here) random guy is able to get people to donate (I'm guessing here) over a thousand in under 24 hours without a list of potential donors. Just using twitter.

That right there should show how poorly the athletic director is doing at engaging with fans and donors.

Sadly I don't think they realize it.

THIS. And that's been the saddest part of watching and supporting this athletic program over the years.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.

No offense taken. In the grand scheme of things I am just a random guy and yes, that most certainly illustrates the incompetence of our athletic department.
