We have a "Trump of Texas State football" that was the main reason I backed off. He has played (and coached) every sport. Knows everyone in the admin, every coach and player (past and present) and is the expert on every new guy.

I HATE the name debate. RaginPagin or any thread involving Cajuns is like a sealed room filled with methane, and all it takes is an extra L tossed in to create a spark and make that room explode.

What I dislike more than the actual debates is when someone notices [insert publication] starting to refer to us as simply Louisiana (or reverting back to Louisiana-Lafayette), and a thread gets created about it. It makes me embarrassed.

Disclaimer: I know and understand why some of our fans are passionate about it, and I appreciate their passion. It's just I am way less passionate about it.

It's OK. You'll always be USL to some of us old timers.

No one on the Troy message board can engage in smack talk without half of the other Troy fans taking up for the other team. Never seen behavior like that anywhere else.

Every single thread turns into an argument over the most inane crap and semantics. Awful

I have a big problem with the self-righteous "I made eye contact once with Erk once so I'm more True Blue than you will ever be" holier-than-thou fans that are common in the Eagle Nation

-Arguments over uniforms or colors or logos.

-People who have "inside information" that turns out to be nothing more than rumors or just an attempt at getting attention.

A few bipolar folks who can go from "we are terrible, cut 'em all, fire everyone, go DIII" to "man, we could be Top 25 with another win"......sometimes in the same thread!! LOL

Got a few that think recruiting is as easy as EA Sports and can't figure out why we aren't landing some local 4 star recruit or don't know why we haven't offered the local "stud" who is 5'8" and runs a 4.9.....you know, because he is local!!

Lately it's been the Chicken Little, 'the sky is falling', fans that have been the worst.

Overall, App Fans are pretty reasonable on YosefsCabin. Every fandom has the ones with "inside info", but those don't bother me unless they use it as ammo.

The board is dated and crashes daily.

About 10 people post in circles while 3 guys argue the same point endlessly.

A couple posters can only seem to point out the negative.

The board can go hours or sometimes days without a new post.

We have several posters on the GS board (and here) that have to include political comments and references in every post.

I understand that a lot of folks in the south hate “liberal snowflakes” but working in irrelevant references in sports talk gets old.

1. App St fans who complain about concessions or bathrooms long after they have all been upgraded at KBS. The Yosef Club crowd who thumb their nose at fans who don't donate enough or at all. That isn't your decision what someone else does with their money....

2. Basically anything ericsaid posts.....

. . . . ever ask yourself: “Why that is?”

And why so few choose to even bother posting there? (More lurkers than posters)

And when the board starts to get any new “blood” why do they quickly disappear?

Well, this thread has quickly evolved into something that could bring on a bout of depression. So in the “spirit” of the holidays, allow me to wish all you “Negative Nancy’s” a Merry Christmas . . .

The only reason I still post there is it is one of the few places where you can at least talk Bobcat sports even if it is annoying at times. Here the tread gets turned into a discussion about a certain three teams and in real life none of my college friends keep up with TXST sports.

RE: What really grinds your gears about the fans/posters of your own team/message board?
My only issue is with anyone that trashes any player on any team. These are kids that are going to school and have the equivalent of a full time job to boot. They work hard and should be respected. Complaining about a kid making a bad play or decision or having a bad game is one thing but totally taking to task, trashing or taking cheap shots is really uncalled for. Put yourself in their shoes.....

Way too many people get their opinions on coaches from the great Moe Szyslak:

“All I know about strategy is that everything the manager does is crap. Unless it works, in which case he’s a button-pusher.”
