Your Team’s Craziest Plays
Title is self explanatory. What’s the craziest or most memorable play in your team’s history?

For App State of course it’s blocking the kick at Michigan. But since everybody already knows that one, here’s the “Miracle on the Mountain”

App State leads 14-9 against Furman with almost no time left on the clock. The winner is likely gonna be conference champion.

At the beginning of this video Furman scores to take the lead 15-14...then they go for 2. And the rest is history.

Adrian Peterson's "The Run"

1999 D1-AA National Championship

EDIT:
I'll also add recovering the fumble against #1 App State in OT in 2010. This ended App State's 26 game winning streak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1OU3u51MkE

Troy hosting nationally-ranked Missouri in primetime on ESPN in 2004. RB DeWitt Betterson runs up the middle, fumbles it straight up in to the air. What happens next is completely amazing.

Troy goes on to beat the Tigers 24-14.

One of the most absurd no-calls in the history of officiating. Furman player jumps over the line and offsides isn't called.

I'm at Taco Mac Lindbergh. There is a table of my friends getting discouraged, 10 or so of us. We are having the worst service ever. About 45 minutes between times we would see the waiter. I made a comment if we run the ball back here, I will buy shots for everyone. And then... Albert Wilson happened. Magically as he crosses the goal line, the waiter shows up behind my shoulder. I made good on the bet.

Here is a better video of what AirRaidTrojan posted.

This is easily one of the craziest, if not THE craziest, in Troy history... starting at the 17 second mark:

I'm at work and don't have time to look for it, but besides the Miracle on the Mountain, the next one that comes to mind is Armanti Edwards' Houdini act. Maybe another App person that knows of this can post the video.

UL Head Coach Billy Naiper at QB for the Paladins! A young Taylor Lamb was on the Furman sidelines too.

"The Catch" by Jerome Simpson the night we went on to beat Number 1 in the FCS James Madison.

Was the number 1 play on SportsCenter.

Wow did those videos bring back some memories. Some former legends. Since obviously Adrian Peterson is my favorite, I do want to give a shout out to Armanti Edwards. Now there was a beast with so much talent you really had no choice but to respect his achievements. It's very rare when a player transcends the jersey he has on.

I remember being in the GS equipment van riding home from Western Carolina and listening to that outcome, the next weekend y'all came down to the Boro & that was the 3rd part of the SoCon Championship series during those days.

RE: Your Team’s Craziest Plays
For me GS has had several great plays:

1985 - "The Catch" from Tracy Ham to Frankie Johnson in the I-AA National Championship Game
1999 - "The Run" Adrian Peterson running through the who Youngstown State Defense and throwing a Penguin at the I-AA National Championship Game - video has already been posted
2000 - "Son of the Run" Montana had finally just taken the lead in the I-AA National Championship Game, AP on the 1st play from scrimmage takes back the lead from the Griz on a single run
2010 - "Number 1 Goes Down" vs. App State, GS force OT
2013 - "Draining the Swamp"
2018 - The Reverse - from this past weekend

Glad stAte could bookend your "craziest" plays. You're welcome.
Don't know if it's in the craziest plays category but Don Jones body slamming that poor Troy player is WWE quality crazy. And a personal favorite. See my signature.

Your link is the entire game. At which point is that no-call? I was just trying to see if any of those officials now call SBC games.

Check out 2:36:32 and run it from there.

None of the SoCon guys from that era are probably still running games. They were old then, in all seriousness.

They had a few young guys, but anyone that was in the SoCon beyond a single year rarely made it out. If they were decent, the ACC, Sun Belt, CUSA and SEC lined them up quickly.

You're only the last one.

You were in the title game in 86, not 85. That one was against Furman.
