Rank the Sunbelt... Breweries
So you are all hyped up about Our School Is Better Than U take on Dumpster Fire Tech in enemy territory. You get there on Friday night and you are ready for a brewski and looking for some local brew. Where do you go? Where? Do? You? Go?

(ground rules)
1. It has to be somewhat convenient to the university. i.e. Red Hare Brewery in Marietta doesn't work for GSU
2. Distilleries are most definitely allowed.
3. If you have neither, which is ok, where would you go for a drink with local flavor?

I would say for GSU...
1. Eventide
2. New Realm
3. Monday Night Brewery(The Garage location is 2 miles away from GSU Stadium)
Honorable Mention - Halfway Crooks Brewing and Blending will be opening 2 blocks from GSU Stadium this fall.

Gotta put Flat Top above some of those. I'd say

1. Booneshine
2. AMB
3. Flat top

RE: Rank the Sunbelt... Breweries
Well, the only brewery in Statesboro that I know of is Eagle Creek Brewery, and God bless em I love their school spirit, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite regional beer.

I know a lot of visitors who come for Sun Belt games usually either stay in or at least visit down the road in Savannah when they're here, so while it's not technically convenient to our main campus, there are a lot of great options in Savannah for local beer.

For Breweries:
1. Southbound (great IPAs, and you can find this beer all over, more of a tour place though not really a sit down and hang out place)
2. Moon River (The best atmosphere for a brewery and it's right in the middle of everything, do the haunted pub crawl, it ends here and it's a great time)
3. Two Tides (great beer and a neat artsy vibe for those bearded millenials with parallelogram tattoos and suspenders, still it's good beer and worth the look)

There's a vodka distillery called Ghost Coast that's also pretty popular. I went once, but I don't remember it 03-drunk

1. My Toilet Prison Wine
2. Wilkes County Moonshine
3. All the other pretentious breweries from here to asheville and Roanoke who serve swill disguised as good beer in an effort to appease alcoholics who won't admit that drinking 4 high gravity beers is the same as drinking a 12 pack.

For CCU it is New South Brewery all the way. We serve their stuff at our baseball games.

RE: Rank the Sunbelt... Breweries
For San Marcos:

1. Middleton Brewery - Way out on the outskirts of town, but the best brewery in San Marcos. The Bobcat Red is their most popular beer and you can find it on tap in a few San Marcos bars. Other than that, you'd have to hit the brewery to try the rest. Haven't tried anything from there that I haven't thought was fantastic. They usually have a big selection of around 15 beers or so to choose from at any given time.

2. Altmeyer & Lewis - I've actually never been there, but ranking it 2nd as it's the only other true brewery I know in town. It's only been open for about a year as far as I know but reviews are very good so far.

3. Sean Patrick's Pub - One of my favorite restaurants in San Marcos (ate their Sunday coming back from San Antonio) and they've begun to brew their own beer recently. Located on the infamous "square" amidst the bar scene it's kind of a Texas/Irish hybrid with excellent food and beer. They have a big board with rotating beers from the brewpub. Also have a big selection of more popular beers for the less adventurous.

4. Root Cellar Cafe & Brewery - A bit more upscale than the other restaurants on this list. Great date spot. Right off the square in downtown. I believe they were the first restaurant in town to start brewing their own beer.

5. Aquabrew - Been open maybe 2 or 3 years basically across the street from Sean Patrick's. They have 5 solid brews and will allow you to tour the brewery. Large food menu with pub snacks/sandwiches/soup & salad/etc.

Yes, only one I’m aware of. Not a huge fan of New South. But I have only had it a handful of time. Still need to go by their brewery.

There's about three-four dozen (literally) between Boone and Asheville that's top notch that would be impossible to rank

Booneshine has some great beers, but the venue is lacking, AMB for combo of beer and venue.

Ghost Coast is a must try if you're in Savannah. They distill more than just vodka. They were actually created to be a bourbon distillery. Problem is it takes a while to age the bourbon.Their first batch will be ready in 2020.

If you like gin they also have 2 great selections
