I’m just busting your chops

I do think ULM will have the edge, but it is hard to say. They have the better win. But it’s early

I think it's obvious that South Alabama has always been #2.

Well it ain’t the Cajuns, lol. Our best players are freshman and sophomores. We have very little upper class talent and it’s showing. Hard to win when the cupboard was left pretty bare after the sanctions. This schedule does us no favors either. I’m really hoping we have enough players healthy after facing Bama this weekend to fill the roster for the rest of the year.

The only thing clear in the West is that on the day South played TxSt, South won. The west has a long way to go before it is settled out.

South is an awful team this year. That much is obvious. The only question is, IS how bad is South? Its obvious we need a new DC. I don't even know his name like he clearly doesn't know defense.

South is the only team in the West with a conference win, granted it was against noted dumpster fire Texas State. But hey, they may as well be #1. The West is just here to offer up a sacrificial lamb in the championship game.

The west is in a weird position this year. AState may still be the best team despite all that's gone wrong this year. Could legitimately have a 3 loss division champ on this side.

Breaking this conference into divisions with historically so little depth of top line G5 teams was a stupid move.

Exactly. Every other conference is proven to us over the last 10 years that divisions don't make sense because the two best teams in most every conference over that period have all been on one side of one of the divisions. The ACC the Big Ten the SEC... The divisions really aren't the way to go and needs to be some form of a round robin that can sure the two best teams in the conference are playing each other on Championship day. this year it certainly would appear to be that the best teams in the conference are AppState, Troy and likely Georgia Southern.

I'm a fan of having a Championship Game so I'm good with divisions however I think the NCAA should have required 12 teams to split into divisions. It just seems weird with only 10 teams.

I wish they had written the rule to say Conferences with 12 or more teams must split into divisions in order to hold a Championship Game. Conferences with less than 12 teams can hold a championship game with out splitting into divisions.

To add to your point, currently 10 team conferences can have a championship game with a round-robin, so we would need 9 conference games to do that.

Exactly, right now OOC performance is more important to the Sunbelt than beating eachother up. So far this year we've all performed very well in out of conference play.

Splitting into divisions and not giving up that 4th OOC game is about raising the perception level of the whole league.

Would be interesting if the title game gets a USA / Troy rematch.

I'd say there's no clear #2, but it's between ULM, USA, and maybe ULL

it will not be USA or Louisiana.
