AD said on radio this morning that they're still checking through everything. He said the issues will be corrected by the Ga.St. game.

Any photo taken from ground level looking at the stands is going to look much fuller than it really is or from one taken from press box level. Also, you have a lot of bleachers seats. It's easier to make a bleacher crowd look fuller than individual chairback seats, because 4 fans in bleachers can take up 7 or 8 spots easily, whereas in chairbacks, 4 people take up exactly 4 seats only. You also had end zone seating tarped off. The sideline seating looked to be maybe half full at most from press box level according to what I saw.

You did had a decent crowd for an FCS opponent. Congrats, it looked decent. I'm not trying to be negative towards your crowd. I already know we have our own attendance issues.

The salient point is no one knows actual attendance, but for this particular game announced attendance was understated due to failure to scan all eligible tickets.

SDSU has run into this issue many times. I don't ever remember having my ticket scanned, and I have dozens of friends who have told me they never have either. Unfortunately, SDSU cannot control this, and this is something that is used by detractors, such as this investment group that is competing with SDSU for the Mission Valley site (The investment group has lost, and it will be official in November, but still annoying).

I dont know what the actual attendance was. I do know that my 4 tickets were not scanned. She just waved us through after looking at the tickets.

We scanned all the tickets twice, so should come out to about 85k.

Actual butts in seats Sunday....15k?

I couldn't see the upper deck, but I think more. I was surprised with how big the crowed was for a makeup game vs an FCS opponent coming off of back to back 3-win seasons.

It looked far better on TV than I expected it to, but what's sad is there are going to be several games this year with less butts in the seats to start than that one. The UNC game is going to not sell out, and I'd have never thought that was possible.

Sustaining success for AAC schools has much more to do with recruiting and making good hires than it does with retaining staff. That's just an impossibility. We are all stepping stone coach positions to the big time, in coaches' eyes.

Yup. We were lucky to keep him for an extra year. When he leaves after this season I will wish him well(as long as he doesnt Fuente away a really good season)

I was there, and had a view of the entire stadium from a suite. I gauarandamntee that attendance was north of 40K. All you needed was one eye and half a brain to figure it out.

Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they are talking about.

We went in the stadium early and there are only a couple of people behind us. My ticket scanned at first try but she had a go through three or four tries to scan my buddies. We've both into a number of games at the Liberty Bowl and both of us estimating the crowd at north of 40000.

They just said on 99.9 the fan that it's sold out, but they usually don't know what they are talking about so I wouldn't be surprised if they were wrong. Yeah

ECU has some UNC single game tickets available in a few sections and others in 3 game packages.

If weather is good...actual crowd should still be very good for this one.

The reality is actual attendance was greater than announced because not all tickets were properly scanned. It is a problem that requires immediate resolution due to inaccurate portrayals such as the one you posted.

RE: Week 1 attendance
when usf announced 31K I thought there was legit 15K max there. Turns out there was actually 21K. Honest question, are usf fans happy with 21K coming off the best year in school history to opening home game?

Memphis looked larger than 33K tbh but I cant say whether it was up to 40K or not, hard to tell on TV. Probably somewhere between 35-36K. Very good for an FCS team. I know the UCF game later this year is going to be a capacity crowd, biggest we'll see all year at UCF.

Uconn was better than they expected and better than I expected. I think it was pretty close to the 23K announced. For a team that hasn't been any good in a long time I thought they did well.

ECU had a solid crowd as well and in the same boat as Uconn I am impressed by their fans continuing to show up despite awful play on the field. If ECU was coming off the last few seasons that USF had no doubt in my mind there'd be 50K+ every game.

Tulane and Tulsa is what it is. Small private schools with a small following and in Tulane's case theres some major competition for eyeballs in new orleans. Hopefully they can improve.

With the bang Cinci started with and the new stadium renovations I am very excited to see their crowd this weekend.

UCF should be sold out as well for the FCS home opener, it'll probably be announced in the 44K range.

I guess I don't get the point of this post as Memphis fans are simply pointing out that we had more than 33k there. 07-coffee3

I've been going to Tiger games at the Liberty Bowl 20 years now and I'd guess 37,500.

Temple's 32,357 attendance number was good. Its about 5k higher than their average attendance the last 2 years and where it is normally between 32-35k when these two teams play. Temples best draws when the can get them to pull their attendance averages up are Penn St, Rutgers, Navy, Villanova, and Army. Penn St sells out when they play there and so did the Notre Dame game the school was fortunate get a few years ago. 04-cheers

The AD came out and said he's reviewing what went wrong and will have it corrected before the next home game. I have no idea what the actual number was, but the ath. dept. admitted an error.

It's technically a road game for UC at Miami (Oh) at Paul Brown Stadium. Depending on the weather (I think rain for everyone this weekend due to the tropical storm remnants) I expect UC fans will outnumber Miami (Oh) fans.
