North Texas was up 39-0 at the start of the fourth quarter, with all starters pulled, and SMU still had only one first down and 44 total yards total offense.
You didn't see our 43-6 victory in 2014? June Jones resigned after that game.
It was a good crowd of over 29,000 last night, and SMU fans showed up. They filled their section and were sprinkled throughout the stadium. I know Pony fans are hurting today, but I do hope SMU rebounds and has a competitive season. Best of luck with the rest of your schedule Pony fans.

It wasn't the score differential, I have witnessed plenty of more lopsided butt whippings. I just had never seen at any level a team go so far into a game accumulating only one first down.
Somebody please correct me if that is not an oddity, especially among teams that were perceived pre-game to be pretty evenly matched.

Our defense had made great strides since the end of last season. Jones and the other Pony RB's had a tough night against a stout NT D-line, so they had trouble moving the chains. Especially with Hicks missing his NFL WRs. But, I'm sure Dykes will improve, and this game will be a dog fight next season.

My gosh, total domination of the ponies. North Texas QB Mason Fine was an undersized QB out of a small town 40 miles east of Tulsa. Kid has developed into an elite player, 40/50 is astonishing, wish Tulsa had took a chance with this player, has a spark most QB's will never have.

End of 3rd quarter smu had more penalty yards than offensive yards.

Rhett Lashlee.
Uconn fans blasted me when I laughed at them for saying they "stole" Lashley from Auburn.
Y all laughing with me now.

He's a great QB out of Locust Grove, Ok. He and his #1 receiver who was considered too slow for D1 easily broke Oklahoma HS passing records. Fine is short so people passed over him in recruiting including Tulsa.

U were right, as usual...
Looks like we just needed an uptempo offense, not a Lashlee.

That pretty much sums it up. It was a lot of fun for Mean Green fans.

I thought those stats made it look pretty bad, but North Texas did score a field goal on the very next play making it 36-0.

Is Mason the next Doug Flutie? Can anyone predict upside?
