I certainly don't agree with Liberty on all their beliefs, but I respect their $$$, investment in their program, really trying to move up quickly, and knocking off a P5 school last season in glorious fashion.

Kick out Temple. Add Liberty.

Liberty University offered C-USA a few million dollars to join C-USA. C-USA turned there offer down.

UAB just built a 30 million dollar practice facility. The city of Birmingham is building a new 175 million dollar stadium and 125 upgrade to it Civic Center. I expect UAB to make a big push to join the All American Conference next year.

ESPN is smart, I’ll give them that. I have a weird feeling that Liberty is going to be very successful at FBS. They have money. They have worked out a bowl tie in for their very first FBS year. They have more cartel schools coming to play them in their stadium then the entire MAC. They crushed Old Dominion 56-10 to start the season.
ESPN signs them on right before they play their first FBS game as an Indy. Probably paying them nothing to play on ESPN plus for the next 10 years. Smart...

BYU certainly has more caché right now. But if Liberty can get to a similar level of success/brand worth, I think Liberty's location makes them much more desirable as an addition to the AAC. Granted the gap is huge right now.

I wonder who has more money/pull as a group, mormons or baptists?

Can't specifically answer the money/pull question, but there are about 6.6 million Mormons in the US, 50 million Baptists. BYU is completely owned by the LDS church. Libery is officially unaffiliated, but it's founding church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention of which there are about 15 million members.

You are probably going to have to go with Baptists on that one. Mormons are vocal and visible and practically run the state of Utah but there are only 6-7 million in all of the US.

Baptists have many, many different organizations so they don't have one united voice like LDS but in total there about 50 million in the US. The group of Baptists that would probably identify with LU would number around 16 million.

AAC should want the strongest programs possible...and for most to get to that level, they have to invest $$$.

Liberty is spending $40 Million to renovate/expand their fairly new stadium.

Here's what it currently looks like:

New expansion will bring a new upper level on the opposite side, a new tower/club and a new football facility attached to the stadium too.

Unless there is a clause I didn't read about ESPN+ is not the deal. I'm not sure of the intent of LU but from the looks of it they want to remain on non + ESPN so we can be on TV when ESPN seems a game popular enough.

Old info. You should speak in past tense when you talk about this. The stadium already looks like the renderings below the super old pics you posted.

Here is some pics of the stadium the day of the ODU game and a video a week before.
